All this week (13th-17th) Bruce Wolf is the fill-in host for the vacationing Mully & Hanley. Each day he'll be paired up with another WSCR regular fill-in person, including at least one day with Steve Rosenbloom. (& maybe Chet-Chitchat?!)

Bruce Wolf is a veteran Chicago sports anchor who has been on both TV and radio for more than 20 years. Wolf first started working full-time for the Lerner Newspaper from 1972 to 1981. He then joined WXRT radio in 1979 where he did morning sportscasts. In 1982 he joined WLUP Radio also doing sportscasts. While working for WLUP, Wolf created a character named "Chet Chitchat", a blended caricature of Chicago sportscasters Chet Coppock and Chuck Swirsky, his predecessor at WLUP, which became a weekly feature on the station's morning program. Wolf is known for his unique brand of humor while reporting stories. Wolf lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his wife and children. Wolf was let go on March 5, 2009, during cost cutting at WLUP.

He'd probably be OK if he didn't try so hard to be funny all the time. I remember before AM1000 settled on Carmen & Silvy to take over Mariotti's spot they had on-air auditions for several different people and I don't think Bruce took a breath the entire time he was on.

Why would a radio station allow both cohosts to take the same week off? It seems like they would want one of them on air at all times.
I have never given Bruce Wolf a thought of being on the Score, but this could be interesting, I am a big fan of Wolf. I wonder how He would be with Mac?

I think the station probably wants the regular shows back in time for Bears camp.

Wow, I like this Wolf/Rosenbloom combo. I can actually listen to the Score this morning without having to worry about being put to sleep.

Bruce is great! He has a ton of sports knowledge but does not take himself too seriously.

I was starting to think that I was the only one in the world who liked Bruce Wolf. I am one of the few that thought he and Dahl were a good pairing. He's a perfect fit with Rosey, who I usually detest.

EDIT: It's Wolf and The Bear Whisperer the rest of the week. Fuck!

Never really understood the Bruce Wolf thing. I always thought he and Sven of Svengoolie were the same guy growing up. I don't think the guy is funny and he really brings no insight to the Chicago sports scene and do I really want my sports raido ear giving me Bruce Wolf thoughts on a daily basis , I think not!!! Les Grobstein was more funny with Dahl then Wolf will ever be.

Having said that I find it funny that all these retreds like Dahl, and Bruce, North and others are without radio gigs and seem to be championing themselfs like free agents to get in front of the masses to say Hey, Im still here hire me.

Bruce Wolf is horrible, and he's not funny.

Bruce Wolf has a mind that works so fast,most of his humor is missed.
I do know one thing,Mike North does not like him. They had an on-air squabble
a few years back. don't remember why or what,though.

I think Bruce can be pretty funny at times, but I don't think "he has a ton of sports knowledge" about things from the recent past or present. I bet he would even admit that himself, being the self deprecating guy he is.

Also, Bruce's laugh is genuine, which is a nice change of pace for this time slot. I can never resist a cheap shot at the regular hosts and their contrived chuckles.

Their I.Q.s are about 80 points apart.

Maybe North couldn't shake Bruce down for venture capital?

I think Bruce has more sports knowledge than he lets on. The problem is he feels the need to be a smart-@ss all of the time. Funny in short doses, but it can get old quickly.
