North seeks new sponsor
Mike North is back from vacation and hard at work lining up a new lead sponsor for his "Monsters in the Morning" show on Comcast SportsNet, since his previous sponsor's owner is facing federal charges. Nothing to report yet, North said, but he told us he intends to do a good job of vetting whatever sponsor comes forward before any contract is signed. "If I don't do the vetting, you can be sure the media will," North said.

The difference between the guys that perpetrated Enron—Skilling, Fastow and Lay—is that they hadn't spent nearly 3 years in prison and filed for bankruptcy 3 times. It is entirely on North to perform due diligence before putting his career—and the careers of his friends, who took North at this word—in the hands of Hernandez. You're extremely ignorant if you can't see the difference between being a rank-and-file employee of a multinational corporation like Enron and the risks of starting an entrepreneurial venture with a convicted felon.

Knowing the difference between "here" and "hear" would, indeed, make you seem like less of a dumbass, and as if you had read something other than a box score.

You also seem to forget that it was Mike North who sent the SCORE on a downward spiral when he screwed all the on air shows over and insisted on having his own solo act.
That Mike North Show was his head becoming bigger than Barry Bonds' and this format with this guy discussing politics and entertainment was a complete disaster....
Aggressive stupidity is not good radio...period.

Huge difference between going to work for a company that's been around since the founding of the country (what I do and where I work) versus taking a venture on a proposition when someone FAILED ONCE ALREADY AT IT. When you take a risky business decision; what Jesse and the rest did; do you do your OWN background work, or do you trust a guy WHO IS A KNOWN BULLSHIT artist like Mike North? Who, within the last 12 months:

Lost a job where he was offered 800,000 dollars! (I'm sorry, I'd take a 10th of that right now, easily.)

Spoke about funding his internet based radio gig by having 3 or 4 'major' investors and "get really big and go"

Lost his internet based radio gig

Did webcam shows that featured him, you 'da bookie priest' and Jen Jen doing cartwheels

Started his 'lifelong' dream of being a professional sports handicapper

Joined a network of other professional sports handicappers; and talked how this was about to
"get really big and go"

Lost his 'lifelong' dream job of being a professional handicapper (alongside such career minded individuals like Fred and JenJen)

Talks about writing a book about his now ex-one million a year job; talking about how it would "sell a lot and tell of inside secrets about WSCR"

Wrote a book about losing his one million a year job; which 1/2 of was just his views about the local sports teams

Said book does not sell

Now, given that everything Mike swore up and down was about to "get really big and go" and "it's going to sell" and "we got investors lined up;" and given that everyone saw Mike's list of fail, fail, epic fail, more failed ventures:

How stupid do you have to be NOT to question North and David Hernandez? You keep saying Hernandez is at fault. I give you that; but given that Mike North vouched for the guy; and everything else Mike vouched for in the past year fell apart in three months or less?

You'd be a moron to sign on without doing due diligence. Jesse and company are morons; for not doing their own thinking and their own legwork. They trusted a friend; but a friend who already in the past year showed horrible business judgment.
