Give it 5 minutes and watch Mike never shut up. He must have got his B 12 shot, he is trying to pump this show up so much he continues to bring it down. In his mind the more he talks, yells, wears stupid outfits, the better this show is.
Of course he is trying this out of desperation now trying to get a name sponsor and this is why I made the post.
He reminds me so much of a guy who nobody wants to talk to, that is just trying to barge into a conversation.
Jiggs has to feel this ship sinking and I bet he checks the direct deposit account every 5 minutes on payday.

Actually the show is not bad, its sports talk with sports people, he has no problems getting guests, and some of the guests are quite good, yes he does wear stupid clothing at times, the same with jen, she does wear stupid clothes as well

The show is shit ... it's something you'd see back in the day on some local cable station after fishing and before Town Talk.

The show is a total waste of time.

Jen sounds like a dipshit high school chick talking sports.

North is a tired act and Jiggetts looked like he just ate the inventory at the nearest Dunkin Donuts.

Yes, it really is bad. When the premise for the show is to listen to an uneducated, bigoted halfwit yell about whatever comes to his limited mind, it is a very bad show.

Not necessarily ... if all I knew about an unknown (to me) show was that premise, I'd surely at least tune in to see what's going on hoping for a cheap laugh or two, because I'm a dick like that.

However, in this case, yes. This show sucks to high heaven. Why Jiggs doesn't cold-cock him dead in the jaw is something I don't quite understand, and concurrently look very much forward to.

Just being at the same airport gate with Jiggs for a departing flight would make me sweat.

Speaking as a portly fellow, I ask for Jiggs in proxy: what the fuck else clothes should he wear?

It isn't like tubs like us have 'skinny' pants. At best we might have pants that hide our blubber a little better, but that's about it. Can't hide fat ... you can light the other person's face on fire, but that's the only way I know of to distract from being fat - which is not a crime, incidentally*.

(* - being fat, I mean, isn't a crime ... lighting peoples' faces on fire probably is against some EPA statute at the very least)

Jiggs looks like he's 375 lbs on a light day.
There is heavy and there is DANGEROUS.

As someone who actually turns on MITM every day I can honestly say that the best way to describe this show is that "its just another TV show". There isn't anything great about it and there isn't anything particularly awful about it. It certainly isn't groundbreaking or compelling in any sense of either word. Hopefully the following will illustrate what I mean or at least give an idea of what is good and bad about the show.

1. Time (negative) - even if this was a compelling show, who is getting up at 6 AM to watch it? The only reason I turn on the TV in the morning is because I have to be awake to actually attend work that day, if it wasn't for that, you could have (insert two hot babes here) scheduled to have sex live on TV at 6:45 AM and I'm not waking up for that. Realistically I have 15 minutes from the time I leave the bathroom till the time I finish with breakfast to have the TV on. MITM is no more annoying and no less entertaining than any other crap that would be on. Like a lot of others I'm generally pretty tired in the morning and usually a good degree of pissed off so the TV is just some background noise while I prepare for another day in the cubicle.

2. Interviews (positive) - whoever books the show does a pretty good job. There are a lot of interesting people that make it on the show. Gary Player, Bob Verdi, Rocky Wirtz just to name a few. Sure they have their run of the mill crappy interviews also, but I'm pleasantly surprised most of the time as to who they get on. The Gary Player interview was especially interesting, I actually loitered around for a while to keep hearing what he was saying, very interesting fellow.

3. Mike North (negative) - this post isn't meant to be a cut job on North, but one of the best parts of the show, the interviews, often are ruined by North. Take the Bob Verdi interview for example, Verdi has seen everything their is to see in the world of sports. North would ask him a question, let Verdi answer for 5 seconds and then interject with some funny "joke" or a comment. Remarkably annoying, I don't know why Verdi would ever come back. As for Mike on the rest of the show, if you liked the MNMS then you'll like him on MITM, but if you didn't like the MNMS then you won't like him on MITM.

4. Show Layout (for lack of a better term - negative) - of the five times a week that I turn this show on, at least two of them result in my 10 minutes of viewing consisting of the following:

- 1 minute of monsters finishing up a segment
- 3 minutes of commercials
- 2 minutes of Jen telling me about the traffic and weather
- 3 minutes of commercials
- 1 minute of monsters before I turn off the set to take off for work
I don't know how you are supposed to build an audience with that much wasted time. Maybe if I lived in Chicago the traffic would help me out, but who knows. I usually don't care about the abundance of commercials that I have to watch (refer to point 1 as to my interest level of what is on TV) but if I were trying to build an audience this show layout wouldn't make me very happy.

5. Jiggets (positive) - say what you will about Jiggs but he can handle himself in from of the mic, and he for the most part knows what he is talking about...or more likely is smart enough to not give his opinions on stuff that he is clueless about. Again falling in line with my opinion of the overall show Jiggs fits in, being that he isn't all that compelling to watch but doesn't make you want to change the channel, but with him involved, there is a voice of reason and someone who lets the interview subject finish his answers and follows up with thoughtful responses.

That is about all I have for specific comments on the show. Not living in Illinois anymore I like to have it on in the morning to catch up on Chicago sports, if I lived in Illinois there is a chance I wouldn't be turn it on even for the 10-15 minutes that I do.

As for the other things that get mentioned about the show, Jen, the constant playing of air hockey type crap, the ladies in the morning, none of that is more or less offensive/stupid than anything else out there on morning TV. Everying is trying to capture that "signature" entertainment quality to hook in viewers, everyone has the good looking woman or whatever. Watching North act like a baffoon in a Hawks cheerleader outfit isn't that must more stupid than for example a clip of some dickbeater on Fox and Friends going skydiving or something.

One Post,
I think that is a very well thought out and excellent review.
I like Dan Jiggets. I would like to see him on his own show without Mike cutting him off every 15 seconds.

With Jiggs' money he could have custom tailored dress shirts made out of high thread count fabric with vertical stripes. Heavily starched pressed collar that stands upright. No tucking. Cufflinks. Jeans got to go. Sweaters - big no.

Liked your post, but if you think about it, the guests he has on, 80% are plugging something and if you turn on the radio, you will hear that same person on one of the stations later in the day. Its not so much about booking on their end.

One Post - if you eliminate North and Jen, give Jiggs a good co-host, better update person and a fresh start (something not linked to Hernandez), you might have a good show.

This is actually a great idea.

Fucked up thing is Mac would be a perfect co-host to Jiggs IMHO.

Its destined to fail on account of its time slot, there isnt anything outside of exposed nipples that would make anybody become a regular watcher, tho.

If you watch any of the morning shows, you get the news, and nobody really takes it seriously, while you have Nort acting like a stooge, its destined to remote masterbation the second he starts.

I watched one of the replays, and watched this verbal joust between idiot and Jiggs about Cutler, it was pathetic, and a train wreck.Who wants to see that right when they wake up and are getting ready for work?
