First Josh Fields, now Brian Anderson. Is there some virus going around the Sox clubhouse that makes bad players douchebags?

When Dewayne Wise is still on the roster and Anderson is sent to Charlotte, I can't blame him.

Brian Anderson should demand to play better.

I demand you people READ this article.

He is asking (not demanding) for an opportunity to play everyday on an MLB club. He said if something fair for the Sox comes along where BA can play everyday, Kenny would entertain the deal. Thats about it.

Frank - it's just a strange article in that you normally don't hear a .227 hitter requesting, asking, demanding or saying pretty please trade me.

I do agree a fresh start on a fresh team might help him though.

Doesn't matter. Players that have done absolutely nothing for a team are in no position to ask or demand that anything be done for them. It's just embarassing to the player. What is he going to do? Threaten to sit out? That would probably make the Sox happy. Im sure Kenny would probably take a bag of balls if he could get it.

The virus was called #1 draft selection prior to Beckham.

I was at a Sox game with my buddy late in the 2008 season and we watch Brian Anderson's batting average fall from .177 to .159.

Or he'd rather a 31 year old career minor leaguer hitting .190 with 1 HR and a bad shoulder on his roster.

Brian Anderson is Corey Patterson with less talent. Give it up.

Why am I not surprised that Brian Anderson wants out of here? Even before his demotion to Triple "AAA" Charlotte, Anderson's supposed to be the best centerfielder on the roster. Defensively, it's hard not to argue. Offensively, he's an automatic out, whether he likes it or not. You can't afford to have automatic outs like Anderson on this team, and in my opinion, he's got nobody to blame but himself that he's with Brent Lillibridge down on the farm.

I'm trying to recall a time in history where, on both sides of town, we had more godawful bad defensive outfielders...

Wise may never make a play bigger than that in his career. This was worth sending Anderson down. Ozzie made a big move.

Nas, it was a bold move. Dewayne came in this game for defense in the top half of the 9th, shifting Scott Podsednik to left and Carlos Quentin to the bench...

Are you suggesting Fuk's a good outfielder... or a bad one?

I'm suggesting that between Quentin, Podsednik, Soriano, Fox, Bradley, Hoffpauir, and possibly Dye, that i've never recalled a time where more DH types were getting regular glove time in the outfield...

Fukudome is a great defensive OF. I get you're saying - and you're right.

I would say he's a very good right fielder, and an above average center fielder. He has good fundamentals, as do most Japanese players defensively..

It's a shame he isn't Latin, then he would play much better in June-September. Ya know, when it's hot...

The White Sox have traded Brian Anderson to the Boston Red Sox for cash considerations, and OF Mark Kotsay.

Kotsay can play 1st so hopefully this means the end of Josh Fields. BA's not going to get anymore playing time in Boston but he got his wish of being traded.

I'm sure Musty Bobby is LOVING this trade.

I was thinking Konerko to DH and Fields at 1st for 2010...maybe not so much anymore.
