It might be time for Comcast to start running something else,6-9 am. I can't see why they would want this tainted product much longer.

My thoughts exactly. I dont think until today they had a reason that would not be potentially fought with a wrongful termination lawsuit. I think this gives them that reason.

If any of the lawyers on the case are reading this, I hereby volunteer to testify as to how easy it was to find the newspaper accounts of Hernandez's convictions and the records of his bankruptcies for $3.95 online!

Alright, calm down, folks! Nothing to see here! From Chicagolandradioandmedia.com:

More than half of the people getting sued in this lawsuit will be safe and have their names removed from the suit by a Judge, but for David Hernandez, the troubles continue. Expect more of these types of suits to pop up over the next few months, too.

North, Jiggetts and any named defendant in this case are in some real shit.

First off, the suit will seek class action status for all plaintiffs (should not be a problem)

next North and Bebe are in some shit because in their role as officers they have a fiduciary duty,

Directors of a company owe such a duty to their shareholders. Crichton v. Golden Rule Ins. Co., 358 Ill.App.3d 1137 (5th Dist. 2005); and Illinois Non-Profit Risk Management Ass'n v. Human Service Center of Southern Metro-East, 378 Ill.App.3d 713 (4th Dist. 2008)

Now what can happen is that the class of plaintiffs can joinder the parties (placing the class action plaintiffs against the norths, david hernandez and all other defendants). go to trial, win a judgement for damages (including punitives). Then they can go after the norths for the entire sum, leaving the norths to go after hernandez.

bottom line, the norths are in some deep caca, jiggets and the othes may lose any money that they made in the course of their contracts as the ill gotten gains, but i dont see them as defendants due to the fact that they do not have a fiduciary duty to the plaintiffs (as mere talent on the webio thing).

Not to mention there is a possibility of filing a civil RICO action against the entire entity. But they arent my clients.

I'm sure Jiggets is named, at least in part, because of comments like these on Monsters in the Morning--

DJ: You know, David, people should know -- you mentioned that we’ve known David for 16 years -- he was just a youngster, Mike, when we first met him.

MN: He was a pup. Still is.

DJ: Six Corners, right? At the bank over at Six Corners.

DH: Over at the bank. Over in that area.

DJ: At the bank. Northwest Side.

DH: Right. And I was affiliated with some of the charity events that you and Mike were sponsoring.

And if North is "smart', he will keep his mouth shut about this on the morning show - it may be a blessing for him if Comcast pulls the plug - nowhere to yap about the troubles..

    WRONG! JOHNNY COCHRAN!!!!!!

You don't think the state or feds are coming next ????

Excuse my ignorance, but what would the state or feds go after North for? You would think he and the wifey would have been indicted at the same time as Hernandez if the feds had something on them. This really just seems like stupidity and ignorance on the North clan.

Might not of had evidence at that time; but once Mike and Bebe started stories of "we knew him/we didn't know him but googled him/well, we didn't know him THAT well/yeah he was at our house but we welcomed listeners to our house so what" the Feds might of seen something worth investigating from those two. Just because the trigger didn't get pulled at the same time Hernandez doesn't mean it might not be coming down the pipe.

Well, North and co. aren't employees of Comcast. North is in essence 'renting' that airspace as it stands.

I'm not. Nor am I wanting to hear from a single North 'fan' defending the guy. The man's an ass, has been an ass for years; and finally someone with half a brain got sick of hearing about how North/Jiggs/JenJen were living it up and taking vacations when the investors are out some serious bank.

The people who lost thousands might not of been able to take vacations and shop at high trendy stores now that they are out that money; but the hot dog vendor and the cocktail waitress are able to?

Where are the people that said this wouldn't happen?

1.This is only one couple. North can't settle cuz then he'll have to settle with the other 99 people. Eventually he'll have to fight. It's gonna be big money either way with lawyer fees. If one wins then they'll all win and North is in serious trouble.

    2. Bad move by Pappy to make Bebe COO of webio.

    3. How much were the North's involved in getting Hernandez "Next Step" investors?

    4. Did North make money as an investor with Hernandez? If so a jury won't like that he made money when everybody else lost.

    5. How much were the North's getting paid as management for webio? Did their checks bounce? We asked this before. If they got paid a lot for doing nothing a jury is not gonna accept that.

    6. Will Jiggs have to turn on North to save his ass? He'll do it. That should be interesting.

    7. Do Jesse and George still think North is gonna make Webio II happen?

This is happening to pappy because his ego couldnt take the hit, the score called his bluff, no offers, went to bed with a crook.....but dont foget, he is the victim. Beardown is right, Jiggs is all about money and if there is a chance he can lose some, he will turn on pappy in a second.

The one thing I know, pappy better up the reatainer for his attorney, there is more to come.

If DH was out to truly impress North, I suspect he gave Pappy some $$$ and I am sure Pappy took it with no problem.

Pappy has painted himself into a corner, a really costly corner.

"They should have known this guy's background," the Samps' attorney, Mark Belongia, said. "They knew more than what they are saying. They made statements that they knew Hernandez for 20 years and had no knowledge of his criminal background. That's illogical.

"They knew they were running [Webio] and it had zero revenue, but they were still able to pay everyone and sign contracts with people. All that money for Webio was derived from stolen money. That was our investor money."

This is what we've all been saying. Finally a lawyer is gonna say this in court before a jury. This really looks like an open and shut case to me. It's just a matter of how much money they'll get. Is it just the "bad money" received that is taken back? Or could a jury go above and beyond that?

I'm shocked they didn't sue Reinsdorf and Comcast. Maybe that's coming. They both received bad money from Hernandez.

I'm also surprised that they have to sue for this "ill-gotten" money. Thought the Feds would just take it back. Maybe they're still working on that and this suit was filed before they got to it.

I think we should bring back this George and Jesse moment in light of the lawsuit. Maybe some missed it.

This article is interesting in light of the law suit. Jim Corno is kissing Mike's ass here. Praising Mike's business skills.
    http://www.chicagobusiness.com/cgi-bin/news.pl?id=32568

I don't get why Comcast isn't being sued. This article said "Next Step" paid 300k for title sponsorship of "Monsters". You figure Comcast got at least 40% of that since North and Comcast split the profits of the show.

Maybe the weio guys are fine. Maybe they'll just sue North and Bebe for the money that was paid to the webio staff. All of that did add up. Most got their checks for the first 2 or 3 weeks and they were making good money. Hernandez also wrote everybody "gas money" checks of $500 before they even took the air. Those cleared. Remember Jesse bragged that he was lucky cuz he got paid for all but 2 weeks of the 3 months.

"For three months here, everything was just great," Mr. Rogers said. "It was the best place I ever worked at. I doubled my salary. I absolutely don't regret anything. I wasn't sure it was going to last, but it was an opportunity I had to take. At least I made good money for three months."
