Well. I resisted at first because I was too blown away by "Meteor". But five minutes into this film, I can tell there is potential.

This is also a two part series.

So far, somehow people think that they can play God by controlling the weather. There is a lot at play here. I for one am brave enough to go through this journey and see what happens.

There is a lot of dramatic music that has intrigued me into the story.

James Van Der Beek? Welcome back.

To be honest W_Z, I had my doubts about this show. Could it really live up to the tale of Meteor? I mean, the chips are clearly stacked against that being so, but still -- the potential of another natural disaster to destroy mankind is proving hard to resist. Maybe I can just start by watching during Sox game commercials.

First of all, JVB is a TOP-NOTCH actor. Fun Fact: I was born the exact same day he was! That is always a fun one to pull out after a long night of drinking and some 2 AM channel surfing through the Soap Network.

Secondly, there looks to be some action in this film. I haven't watched more than 60 seconds, but I can already see they have to evacuate headquarters because of electrical sparks from the ceiling, and one woman may suffer from a mild form of vertigo because she fell down for what seemed to be no reason. I also saw some things flying around in the sky, but it was just too quick -- I haven't settled into The Storm as opposed to The Meteor.

John Laroquette should be able to bring in some interest.

But I know the Sox game is going to provide a big problem, because I'm also channel surfing.

This film is set up like "Meteor" but I believe this can complicate itself...they ran these tests, all the tests came back fine. But something's NOT fine.

I have to admit I am interested.

What this series needs is a very attractive heroin. And...I think I may be seeing one surface.

I can tell you that this split screen action is blowing away Meteor. Wow, this quadruple split screen seems to make things about 400% more action packed! I am a big John Larokette fan, but I am not good at spelling his name.

And I agree with you... though Sokoloff is quite the looker, there appear to be at least two attractive female leads in this epic. Something tells me Dr. Carly Meyers could be behind this whole thing... keep an eye on that name throughout the miniseries.

Wow, TREAT WILLIAMS!!! We are blessed tonight. To be honest, I have yet to switch back to the Sox game. I apologize, Ozzie.

Indeed! Plus...notice a familiar face?!? I wonder if this is actually some kind of clever spin-off from "Meteor".

The addition of Treat Williams has really kicked it up a notch.

I can tell James Van Der Beek's character is very intelligent, he is wearing glasses. He will have the answers; I just hope he doesn't suffer the same consequences Dr. Chetwyn did!

Dr. Chetwyn was just really unfortunate -- it was a complete freak thing. I think Dawson will be safer.

I'm enjoying this internet sleuthing; it makes for a compelling television story. The one thing about Treat Williams is that he has a commanding presence on set. You can just tell that the other actors are in awe of him.

I wish they would listen to JVB's ideas here -- it is NOT time to "agree to disagree", it's time to think before we act! I am afraid that because the other two guys have ties that they will control the decisions here.

I think this will bite them in the you-know-what, newper, eventually. But sit back, we have a lot of time left here.

One thing I don't like to see is freedom be compromised. If someone has an idea that works, I hate to see that challenged and then silenced. That is NOT fair!

I am beginning to get a little concerned about their weather channel's satellite capabilities. It seems that if you were a weather channel, you would plan for ways to get data transmitted during inclement weather.

I hope that EMT and his wife have a girl this time. The mom-to-be looks so happy. I hope this TV event does not turn out poorly for them.

Why is it that the homeless are always the first to be affected by bad weather? I guess that's the true joy of living with a roof over your head -- if it's windy or hailing, you at least have some cover.

newper, I agree, it's a bit biased. But that's Hollywood for you!

You know I saw that CNS is the network that's reporting this. I wonder if they're affiliated with WNN? I don't know, the graphics look similar.

And when you go into a bar to just have a meal, expect the bartender to be a bit suspicious. Just saying...

Oh yeah, and I think the bartender is cute.

oh man, what i like about the split screen action is that sometimes the split screen has the same person in it in two different or sometimes all three different split screens, even for just a split second. it shows you, symbolically, how important that character is...that they are involved in *all* of the split screens. i think this movie has the potential to be very allegorical.

W_Z, we have similar tastes in women. That bartender can pour me a cold one any day!

I was amazed by the skill of the espionagers. They seemed to know what they were doing -- up until JVB came home and caught them by surprise! They did a great job of sneaking out, though I am concerned that this will ultimately be used for more harm than good.

I feel bad that Jon Lairoquet hasn't been around for a while. I almost wish he was the main character. He was great as a district attorney!

well you know when JVB took those glasses off, i thought maybe he lost his intelligence for a few minutes.

but i'm really looking forward to him and the blond meeting together later! i think a lot of important things will happen! i just noticed i'm at the edge of my seat, and it only took 45 minutes.

Wow, they got away just in time! I hope she will let him into her circle of trust. These special effects are pretty astounding! I have never seen satellites bounce such crazy cosmic rays before.

W_Z, I hear you on this JVB glasses thing. I almost wish he would wear two pair like a Robert Stack, just in case one falls off or he needs to take them off to prove a dramatic point. Maybe he could have those sunglass flip up things? Just an idea for the sequel I guess.

Hey, that just inspired me -- do you think it is possible they could combine Meteor and Storm in a sequel? Something like "The Meteor Storm" or "Storm of Meteors?" That would be a real ratings grabber!

I've never heard of such a thing, but you've got my mind working, newper!

It looks like this plot is getting more and more complicated. I mean, it could eventually eclipse "Meteor" but this one doesn't include as many laptops or coordinates, and I haven't seen anything on algorithms yet.

But keep your eyes on Treat Williams.

Some of these trailers for upcoming shows like "Mercy" and "Trauma" make me realize NBC is going to be THE network to beat.

They have cornered the market on hospital dramas about rogue doctors and nurses who know everything about the world of medicine, and know how to deliver!

Oh boy... this cannot be good... I hope she does not take her shoes off anytime soon! You know that fuse is going to go out again, and --- well, I am too afraid to even suggest what will happen.

I agree, W_Z, that NBC looks to be the leader this year for medical drama. My only suggestion to them would be to have a series of mini-series throughout the rest of the year. I really think this could cut into some of the Sunday Night Football market share among males aged 25-49.

SHIT! That has to be up there with the MOST intense Latte-ordering/Shower taking/Henchman stalking/Wrongful murder blaming cut sequence OF ALL TIME!!! The music helped in letting me know which scene was which, going on...but...oh my God...I was like, "NO! LOOK BEYOND THE CURTAIN!" But it was too late! I haven't ever seen anything like that, someone attacking someone in a shower? That is so cowardly!

Holy cow! One hour in and we already have a staged murder scene! The only things I can think that will support JVB's case is that (1) the coffee will still be warm when they get to her place. They should be able to run that against the time of the transaction printed on his receipt or bump it against the security footage at the store where he acquired the beverages. (2) How will they explain the bump on the back of his head? Did he stab her and she happened to club him in the back of the head simultaneously?? I don't know, to me that seems unlikely. (3) There are wet footprints leading down the hall, and presumably out of the building... unless... yes, this must be it! The actual murderer will hang around and say that he arrived with coffee for her, but found JVB in the bathroom with the bloody knife, then clubbed him over the head and called for police.

Oh this is a plan most diabolical. This Treat has such a cold blooded mean streak in him; it is just incredible.

He made the classic mistake of running from the crime scene, instead of explaining the completely rational things you've pointed out. Now he's in real trouble!

I didn't think he'd survive that fall, and instead he got away completely unscathed! Amazing cat-like reflexes he has!

The way that chase scene was filmed was extremely good, too. The strange flash-forward-like effects were like putting YOU right in the middle of the action!

I realize the out of focus effect is to show how everything is spinning out of control. Everything is coming undone...

This musical score is really atmospheric. I think it's done by Puddle of Mud.

I have to say I admire the way that Treat handles his affairs. He is like a bull in a china shop. He takes no guff from nobody. I am beginning to be concerned for most of the employees of the Cable News Service... it does not seem like they are long for this world!

It seems to be official; we've lost two of the top stars so far -- similar in some ways to Meteor. I find it hard to remind myself that Meteor is done and over with and we are onto the Storm now, but I'll try.

I think JVB's character has some good "street wise" mentality, but I hope he can put it to use well. He seems to be somewhat following the lead detective (who reminds me of the daughter from Vegas Vacation -- muy bonita, I must say.)

The only thing I am hoping for now is a little boost of star power to this show. Perhaps a Jason Priestly or Jonathon Taylor Thomas could join the ensemble soon and really give this mini-series the pop it needs.

I think all will become clear once Luke Perry is introduced. What is taking them so long? I think this tender scene between the hispanic couple is very important, to show the human element. Sometimes we forget there is beauty in humanity.

W_Z, that is a true statement. Especially in these thrillers, sometimes we can get caught up in the special effects and action sequences, but it is important to remember to appreciate the sanctity of life itself. The director has done well in giving us an appropriate moment for reflection.

I only hope that the fuse does not blow again... whoa! She might be going into labor soon?

This soundtrack is very edgy! I'll have to look for it if it's available for purchase later.

OH MAN! JVB has been caught!

And Seth Rogen got congratulated WRONGFULLY on a job NOT done yet! There are still storms brewing, and in AFGHANISTAN!

Now JVB is telling the truth... I'm beginning to think she is buying this story... developing.

I agree the soundtrack is mesmerizing. Realistically, I could see some sort of an album coming out of this after next week's conclusion and cracking the top 40 Billboard charts.

DID YOU SEE WHAT JUST HAPPENED? MAN, if anything NBC really knows how to rope you in with those commercial break cuts. Like...HOW is JVB going to get out of this one? That was some serious violence. I'm glad I don't have small children I'd have to explain all of this to, it would be very difficult.

I am really unsure about what Jack is doing here... I'm concerned that his priorities are out of whack. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll get to see exactly what is going on with Luke Perry before the end of the hour. I am sure we are in for a treat next week though.

I think that General needs to realize that you don't interrupt Treat during a massage, or you are going to get yourself in a world of hurt! This is serious business here!
