His profile & picture are still on the 670thescore.com Web site, but Mike Murphy's stock at 670 The SCORE has fallen to a point where it might be time to part company once and for all. The last time "Murph" was on WSCR was for only 1 hour before a Cubs/White Sox Interleague Game. Since "Murph's" last show in June, Laurence Holmes has taken over nights from 6-10p weeknights and builds a bridge to 670's exclusive coverage of White Sox baseball. Dan Hampton, LoHo's former partner on the old 10a-12Noon shift middays, has also co-hosted a couple of weekend shows with Hub Arkush. Hub & Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch also hosted 4 straight weeknight shows during the MLB All-Star Break. If that's not enough, SCORE producers Joe Ostrowski & John "Rock" Mamola, Jason Goff, Matt Abbatacola, and even Matt Rodewald have hosted local sports talk shows ahead of "Murph". When "Murph" will host again is anyone's guess, but you know how far things have fallen when the John Clayton-sounding Rodewald gets an airshift ahead of the SCORE original!

Paragraph

A paragraph (from the Greek paragraphos, "to write beside" or "written beside") is a self-contained unit of a discourse in writing dealing with a particular point or idea. The start of a paragraph is indicated by beginning on a new line. Sometimes the first line is indented; sometimes it is indented without beginning a new line. At various times the beginning of a paragraph has been indicated by the pilcrow: ΒΆ.

A paragraph typically consists of a unifying main point, thought, or idea accompanied by supporting details. The non-fiction paragraph usually begins with the general and moves towards the more specific so as to advance an argument or point of view. Each paragraph builds on what came before and lays the ground or run the length of multiple pages, and may consist of one or many sentences.

Why is it bothering you, sharkie? It's not as if they're holding off hiring someone because Murph's profile is still there. I can only assume he's still there because technically he's still in their employ

I'm not bothered, but it's an observation that I've noticed since Mike Murphy held court for that 1 hour before a Cubs/White Sox game on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com last night. The idea for this post came not just from listening to the station lately, but it's something people on www.ChicagolandRadioandMedia.com mentioned in a thread there. I just find it very interesting that other SCORE bench guys such as Hub Arkush, Dan Hampton, Jason Goff, Matt Abbatacola, Steve Rosenbloom, Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch and Matt Rodewald have hosted local sports talk ahead of "Murph" in recent weeks. "Murph" has become like the 12th man on an NBA roster or the 25th man on an MLB roster. I know he's under contract, but why is he still there if he's not going to be on?

The both of them belong in somebody's attic.

Murph with Grobber would be pretty good radio.

I bet they would get along just fine, and the schtick-y-ness would be great with Les!

Make a nice Saturday morning show.

What? A good source told me, with BITE, that his profile was taken down the Thursday before Danny Mac started on the Score...I'm confused...

Murphy ought to take a look at the damned job market.
I'm sure North has his ear.
Murphy and Grobber would be a great baseball pairing.....
He had better swallow his pride and wake up if he wants any relevance at all in the business.
I don't see a groundswell of support for his return on this board....a hint is a good thing to take once in awhile.....He ought to talk to Mitch and get over his pout act.

Shark, it's a good question why his profile is still there. Something contractual in nature? I can only speculate...

As far as I know, Beebo, "Murph" is still under contract with the SCORE. When the John Clayton-sounding Matt Rodewald can get 2 airshifts to talk Chicago sports ahead of a SCORE original this past weekend, it makes me and everyone wonder how far "Murph's" stock has fallen at the sports talker. Yes, the same Rodewald who does morning traffic on NBC5's local version of "The Today Show" and thinks he'll be on "Dancing with the Stars" or "So You Think You Can Dance" at the end of Friday morning's newscast...

I talked with a good friend of Murph's the other day - he says Murph told him he is done - that the Score does not want him back, not the other way around - seconf hand info, so who knows if it is true.
