You're on your own, Mini Ditka.
Did you assume he wanted to double team her SHARK?
Bryan, Mini Ditka wanted to know if Anna Davlantes was still single, and I couldn't help Mini with that one. Anyway, according to what I've read, Anna wanted a higher profile anchor job than the one she's done on the weekends for quite sometime. This at a time where NBC Universal bosses in New York thumbed their noses at NBC5's current management team of V.P. & General Manager Larry Wert & V.P. of News Frank Whittaker's request to have Bob Sirott become the full time successor to the retired Warner Saunders on its 10p weeknight newscast. To this day, WMAQ has NOT decided who will succeed Saunders, let alone if Allison Rosati will front the 10p news on her own. Anna's weekend co-anchor the last year, Rob Stafford, will likely front this weekend's newscasts on his own. Stafford has also been mentioned as the rumored front runner for Saunders with contract talks bogging down and prompting Sirott to leave NBC5 for a third time. There's talk that Anna might follow in the footsteps of another SHARK fave, Robin Meade, in going national if she doesn't land another job in this market, possibly at FOX32. Before Robin left for HLN, the channel that used to be called CNN Headline News in 2001, she & Anna co-anchored the station's weekend morning newscast in I believe one of Wert's first moves as bossman at NBC5.
