Watched the show from 8-9. I saw they had George Ofman on, so that is what wheeled me in. Anyway, the whole time with George was sorta weird. The one comment was when Papy asked George how long he was in radio, George said 32 years with this slight interuption, in which pappy totally changed the topic. George still has the smug attitude, which is sorta funny, but I always have liked him. When George left, they went to break and when they came back, Pappy still wasnt back on the set, a true professional, so he comes running in, they ramble on about nothing much, Jigs seemed pissed that since pappy wasnt back at the end of the break, that it sorta stopped the train wreck they call a show. I could be wrong, but jigs and pappy dont seem so buddy/buddy any longer, but that could just be me.

Now, the sad part is that the two people who get most of the pub in this show, pappy and jen still suck. Jen is getting worse by the day, actually, anne maxfield would be a improvement, Pappy is just lost, he offers nothing to the show, nothing, all his comments seem forced, his creative control lacks one thing, being creative, this show has no pulse.

Pappy has fallen into what happened to him at the score, he is lazy, unprepared and thinks just because he is mike north, he can get away with it. Jen blind faith to this guy has reached the point where she is his puppet and any hope of her getting another job in the media is all but dead, because she comes off poorly in every aspect she has with the show.

The show ended with pappy doing his stupid pappy arm dance, i cant even watch him do it, whats worse, jen does the same thing, its almost like pappy has told her to just follow his lead, which by now should be a death warning for anyones career. If Jigs was smart, he would just walk away, just walk away.

I still have it on as background and listen here and there in the morning while getting ready for work, but the interviews are way too long. I also don't understand why they don't take any calls from listeners/viewers. This would be more fun IMO...no matter if they're meatballs or not, that's what made the old MOTM on SCR fun back in the day. The fact that the show has some production flaws doesn't really bother me; what bothers me still is when Jiggs has a thought and he's not able to finish it because Mike starts in before Jiggs can finish. It makes me wonder if North ever watches the replay to critique it or not.

I haven't timed out or paid attention to how often the traffic/weather/sports update happens, but once per half hour or less would be plenty. The fun banter between Jen, Jiggs and Mike is OK in small quantities.

The "JIGG EYE!!!" stuff is getting old though. It was not even really that funny the first time, let alone a continuous bit.

Who is paying to have this show produced?

RV's rants on North are great. I don't like the show either, but at this point, this is a rerun thread.

It's a pile of crap. The production value sucks. Jen is an annoying bimbo. North is a blabbermouth douche. Jiggs is, well, Jiggs. What more can you say that hasn't already been said many times before??

Nothing has changed about MitM, nor will it. My suggestion to me, to RV, and to everyone else who Pappy annoys is to stop watching.

Maybe if we start ignoring this show and North, perhaps he'll finally go away.

I agree with a lot of what everyone said here, especially RodeoVann's thought on Jen.

To see a jagoff hosting a bad show and to make fun of it--and him.

Actually, I've seen maybe 30-40 minutes of this show IN TOTAL since January, but if some day I happen to check it out and see something worth commenting on, I'll do it and spare me the "punch the button" talk. I get it.

These sports-talk guys make their livings calling people jagbags, tools, retards, meatballs, and making fun of everything from people's looks (Linda Cohn's "horse-face", for example) to even the broadcasting abilities of a guy who THEIR OWN STATION employed to fill in during school's-out-for-summer week. They should be able to take our criticism. If for ANY reason, I happen to tune in to one of their shows, on a regular or irregular basis, and don't like what I see or hear, I feel free to comment on it here without justifying why I happened to be tuned into them if I don't like what I hear. Purely local sports talk options are fairly limited in this city and in an effort to keep up with any sports news that might be happening on a given day, I manage to catch a sampling of a lot of it.

By your own posts it's quite easily deduced that you listen to a great deal of radio that you purportedly don't care for. I'm fairly confident you're not actually going to refute that.

I have WSCR on at the home office or in the car pretty much 24 - 7. The radio in our kitchen is on 670 all day, even when we go out we leave the radio on,,,my Wife thinks it helps keep the Dog company. Whatever. But a lot of the time radio is background noise while I am on the phone or whatever.
TV is different though, I suppose TV can be background noise to, but usually you sit down to watch TV.
The thing is, I like Mac but cant stand Spiegel, so I still listen because of Mac.
As for B&B, I actually find Terry very funny & entertaining at times, other times not so much.
The update guys, baseball experts, & fill in guys we're pretty much stuck with as listeners, because they are on throughout the day sporadically.
The board members who hate Mike North and watch MITM every day just so they can jump on the board and talk smack abouot North & his show is an obsession that is odd.
You hate the guy, yet you follow his every move & know everything that he is doing & saying. Wierd.

I don't hate North, and I've not seen but a handful of minutes total of MitM (most of which because others had made mention that there were women on there with huge tracts of land). My comments on him, and they have not been many, have been more to do with the circus he's helped to create either by his ignorance or stupidity in regards to David Hernandez, et al. So that point has nothing to do with me.

TV vs. radio as an audio origination source also has nothing to do with my point.

Your obsession with Meatpants is what's odd. Thus the WYC post.

I really don't think there are many people like that out there. Talk about the actual content of his show seems to have really diminished. You are right about one thing--it does take more intent and effort to actually watch a TV show, especially at that time of morning, which is pretty busy for most people, than to listen to the radio on and off throughout the day, and I don't think many people are making that effort to watch what sounds like a total trainwreck of a show. As for Mike's other problem (you know, something about a guy named Hernandez), yes, that has been commented on extensively here by many of us, but come on, it's a pretty big local story about a guy who was once--and still thinks he is--quite a big shot in the world of sports talk that we all follow here. Expecting us to ignore THAT story just because we don't like Mike North is not realistic.

I would, but they canceled both Romper Room and Bozo's Circus years ago.

North is the only clown we have left.

You forgot to list 'Pogo the clown' getting cancelled in '94.
