2 outs and 2 strikes on a backup catcher and you cannot end it!!!!!!!!!

I was literally getting ready to type that this was one of the only times I could remember Gregg getting the save with a 1-2-3 9th.

Please excuse yourself from the rest of this game then. Thanks.

he got hit in the elbow by a pitch and really labored getting to first, but stayed in the game, he eventually got to second and between pitches he walked over towards the dugout and was pointing at his face...

And then the trainer had to catch him and hold him up by the front of his jersey because he was so "woozy". I guess it could be a combination of heat, humidity, and pain - but didn't look good.

They say "Alls well that ends well", but until I see how Zambrano and Ramirez are, I can't say that. I like the way Lou handled the infield, with Baker and Soriano in the 10th, he's thinking outside the box these days.

the cubs offense was embarrassing from the 2nd until the 9th

and the cubs bullpen was just embarrassing in general. marmol used to be an intimidating force but this year he has been the most wild pitcher ive ever seen. i expect 3-0 or 3-1 counts with every batter. and i wont even comment on gregg

i'm very underwhelmed by the team itself. if this fuckin team was in search of a hug, i'd tell it to find it somewhere else...and if it were under 21, i'd say...don't go to the southside, beeyotch.

Dude, "Mr. Duke of Doom", what the hell is wrong with you? You continue to rag on your team. This team has had incredible injuries, players under-performing, and a lot of bad play this year. They are within a pea-whisker of first and the wild card. At the risk of sounding like ES - it's gonna happen. Get ready for postseason ball.

Besides, I might need somebody to go with.

man i can't help it if i'm negative. what, you think i got something to look forward to in the NFL season or something? like, if the cubs don't make the playoffs, you at least have the chosen one quarterbacking your team. me? i got a team that, if the roof comes off again on that dome, people's faces melt. that team is going to suck big time. and this team? gives me no confidence.

but sure i'll go with you if we happen to be post season bound.

You still have Brees. And, um, well Reggie Bush is single now, so......if things work out between you guys you have early retirement to look forward to. And did Hollis Thomas retire?

im not underwhelmed by the team as a whole. for the amount of injuries and horrible signings they have held their own pretty remarkably. derrek lee is proving that he IS the leader of this team despite the large numbers of morons calling for his trade and starting of hoffpauir. ramirez has come back and hit the cover off the ball. soriano is settling into the 6th hole. fukudome is becoming the lead off hitter the team needs. and even with the amount of injuries the starters have had they continue to shut teams down on a regular basis. i just hate to watch the bullpen come into a game.

and has anyone cried about lee hitting into double plays this year? id been saying all off season to give him a break and see if it happens again and guess what. hes hit into FOUR double plays this year.

Lou has a bad lineup going today. Fuld, Hoff, Fontenot, and Hill are all in it. Along with Fox in for Ramirez. Doesn't look good to me.

Think Ramirez is day to day, not sure about Zambrano.

Well that was a horrible at bat by Lee. First pitch swinging and hits a popup to the catcher, and Fox strikes out looking on a hanging breaking ball. Thats how you waste a triple.

2 Fox at bats, and 2 strike outs on breaking balls. Finally teams are pitching to his weakness. The Cubs need to send Hoff down, he looks horrible, and the average is down to .230.
