Wow, it looks like things are starting to come together, JUST as they are also coming undone.

But now we know that JVB has a pretty big decision to make. He can't possibly put the lives of millions in his hands, and yet there it is...he has to accept the consequences!

I think the girl's pregnancy is really going to affect some outcomes later on...and it's like the storm is a metaphor for something. I'm not sure what it is, but I think, it has to do with the chaotic nature of us as people, and the unmistakable force of nature that sometimes we just cannot control. WE CANNOT PLAY GOD!

I don't know what would be worse -- to be on an airplane going through such tremendous weather patterns with a probable deadly crash to ensue, or to be on an airplane and be hit by a meteor and instantly vaporized. I guess if it was the former, I would give myself a personal challenge to see if I could finish the suduko puzzle before we were on the ground... that would at least keep me distracted a little bit.

This is really a pretty good mini-series... I am really looking forward to next week. I don't think it will have the cultural impact that Meteor did, but it is a worthy follow up.

OH MY FUCK! pardon the intense language, but that was just unbelievable...we have to wait another week?! NBC really likes to torment us!

i think we have to look at this from a different angle than "meteor", newper. It certainly has a different feel to it. I'm sure you've noticed.

Man I'm psyched about "Mercy". A nurse who has more experience than all those people in that hospital combined? Her ability to grand stand is awe-inspiring. I think this has Emmy sweep written all over it.

Did you see how she handled that auto accident where the driver had a Snapple bottle impaled in his chest? Clearly she knows her stuff! I am putting that on my DVR -- setting: Record Season.

This movie is being mocked??!!??
My God,more surprises in the 1st hour then an entire mini-series! Teri Polo (from "Meet the Fockers"(Career=toilet ,next stop LIFETIME movies in Vancover) gets killed in the shower. I thought she was going to be the main hero. John Laraquette (Once a big TV star on Night Court) also killed off quickly,Sonny Corelone style. That guy from JAG (huge hit on CBS) now doing small-time shit like this. It's sad watching the decline of some of these TV stars. Teri Polo,I guess, has found the movie business to have a high rate of blond actresses. She needs to find a nice TV role. I don't think Playboy will ask her to pose again!

What I realized mostly about this movie, now thinking about it...is how there's a grander scale at work here, unlike in "Meteor" where there's much more focus on the small town, and how people react to each other in crisis situations. Here it all starts at the top, and how man likes to play God, and the interweaving of characters and relationships is really going to come to a boiling point in the concluding episode; but what I think may be similar is that the storm itself, like Kassandra the Meteor, becomes a character too and THAT supervillain will trounce these smaller villains eventually because as much as Treat's character is vile and I hate him and want to see him get HIS, the storm will soon be a hated villain as well, as it will take the lives of some of the characters we've already grown to love!

I have to give KUDOS to NBC for following "Meteor" up with such a great, original and inventive miniseries like this. That's a hard act to follow, but man it's going in the right direction!

I'm going to see if I can order some merchandise related to these things, and possibly "Mercy" too if it's available yet. I'd really like to get a "Mercy" coffee mug or tee shirt that says "I'm a nurse, out of the way".

newper and W_Z. I laughed my ass off reading this last night. Two goofs humoring themselves over STORM. No one broke in! I considered attempting to post to see if the movies section had been locked for your amusement only. I tried explaining it to the lady friend. She thought I was nuts, but was happy nonetheless as I wasn't drinking and breaking things. CSFMB movie critics meets "Bad T.V. Drama 3000".

OK, friends! Here we go...I'll admit I didn't have the vivid dreams and sleepless nights, and sorely bitten fingernails while I awaited the exciting conclusion of "Meteor" but this has been on my mind, too. I am really stoked!!!

I hope we get some more sneak peeks at "Mercy", too!

I agree... maybe this would have been better a month or two after Meteor... I still have hopes it will have a thrilling ending. Seconding your thoughts on Mercy... I love the saltiness she conveys to the camera.

I really wanted to know what he had to let him know, too! Man, they really know how to keep you on the edge of your seat.

Also, changing the polarity...that's quite a bold move by Van der Beek; but he has his glasses on so I trust what he said was very intelligent and well thought out. I hope it will work!

Don't underestimate Luke Perry's smarts. He is probably wearing contact lenses. I can't believe these feedback ratios -- they should be off the charts, but apparently someone or something is causing an ionosphere hole!! Man, I should have thought of that last week!!

But they can reverse the polarity, and reverse the process...I'm glad Luke Perry understands where he's coming from because VDB was BLOWING my mind! And i swear he used the word *algorithm*. If you have to resort to that, man, I hope he can get the coordinates better than Jason Alexander did in "Meteor".

MY GOD IT'S SNOWING IN HAWAII!!!???!

Poor Dawn...my goodness. I will pray for them.

LUKE PERRY NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although VDB had no chance to save him really, it was way too slippery for him to keep his grasp on the guy. I did *not* see that tussle coming, and now there's even more complications!

Snow in Hawaii is probably a four letter word to them! This weather pattern is just nuckin futs!!

Good battle between JVB and Perry... I felt it was a little WWF Battle Royal-esque with each other trying to throw the other person over the top rope. I do feel bad that Perry apparently died... he was only on for the last fifteen minutes of last week and the first twenty of this week. Was he really utilized to his full potential? I hope that he isn't really dead; perhaps the concrete just knocked him out. JVB always seems to be running from someone or something -- I hope that soon he finds a safe place for himself. He's really an easy-to-like character.

Uh-oh... they are airing previews for Sunday Night Football on NBC... in the midst of the Meteor/Storm phenomenon, I've forgotten all about that! Must I wait until February for the next mini-series?? :x :(

I know, I thought for sure there'd be something about maybe a destructive solar eclipse or a massive flood or something like that coming our way...but it looks like we're going to have some empty Sunday nights for a bit...

You're right about that battle--it was pretty breathtaking! And it was filmed pretty awesome, too! Like I felt every bullet being shot.

Treat just lost his shit!

He lost his shit and then some! Mental note: when Treat comes to my house, hide the crystal! Plastic glasses only!!

I can't believe this electrical storm... I am sure they've struck skyscrapers before, but these appear to penetrate the edifices somehow. Are they superpowered lightening bolts? I guess they could be -- I'd ask Trent, but I fear I'd have a putter swung through my forehead!

At least the EMT staff seems to be responding quickly. God bless them, they truly are America's heroes.

Treat Williams is a commanding presence on the small screen. What a persuasive speech! I'd be surprised if that General doesn't name his next kid Treat -- even if it is a girl.

W_Z, that's just the thing! On the one hand, JVB is saved by the very thing he is seeking to stop -- a "random" thunderbolt that comes flying right through the storefront, and there he is again, on the run. This time it is from the boys in blue... next time, it could be CIA... then maybe it will be the Mafia! Who knows -- that's the life he is leading now... constantly on the run. Then just when you think he has a moment to catch his breath -- whammo! A Doberman wants to bite his head right off!! I really hope he is able to transfer that disk with the algorithm to that friendly lady friend of his.

Watching the Community preview... I am a big fan of The Soup and that dude from it... I hope that it is a good show.

Let me tell you, NBC is cornering the market on brilliant TV this coming fall.

I already wrote them an email letting them know that I will be the first one in front of the TV for their fall lineups, every night. Plus, I looked on their site to see if I could get a "Meteor" coffee mug and tee shirt so I can show everyone that I am a huge fan but I didn't see it. So I let them know they should put together some merchandise for that.

MAN ANOTHER CHASE SCENE! INTENSE! God I love the soundtrack to this movie. The guitar riffs are HARD CORE!

Let me know if/when you find any "Meteor" merchandise. I would be interested in at least a coffee mug, or even better, a knit throw blanket.

I have to say I am a little disappointed in this most recent chase scene. JVB scales a fence with no problem, but the police don't even try to follow him. And it appeared to me to only be one officer chasing him at that point. Are we to believe the police are that lazy? I think not! My theory is that while the brown van was in reverse, the rest of the police tried to intervene. That's really the best explanation. As I said in my previous post though, JVB is always running -- a little Forrest Gump in him!

I think he needs to eat a sandwich or something, I'm hoping that he is right now while he's just made another narrow escape. He needs the carbs. If he doesn't eat something, he may not have enough energy for the next chase.

Watch out JVB!! They are coming for you at the corner of McCaddon and Dodd Street! Why must his friend be so foolish to repeat these things out loud? If I had a friend in a life and death situation, I wouldn't repeat their address to them, and even if I did, I would at least wait to hear them confirm it before I hung up on them... she has a lot to learn, but at least she is easy on the eyes. That's probably one reason that JVB puts up with it.

SHIT! Another chase!

At least this time he is in a car. I'm pretty sure he didn't eat anything, either. I so want to give him a candy bar or something! Damnit!

WATCH OUT! She's a good driver in these conditions!

And quite a gun toter! What aim especially under the weather conditions and the overall stress of the situation. That van didn't stand a chance when it collided with that parked car. The guys were lucky it just burst into an explosive flame... I am surprised it didn't flip over a few times as well. I am glad that JVB has someone he can trust, and she in turn can trust him. We're starting to make some progress, but this weather is just getting worse the longer it takes. I hope we get some more Treat soon -- I am interested to see what he's been up to.
