I hope she is wearing rubber soled footwear again! I fear the worst though....

GREAT a & b scene between Treat and that Jack guy. What a performance, he will definitely get Emmy recognition for that monologue. But Treat's counter argument and his use of "artistry" definitely won Jack over.

W_Z, that scene inspired me. Tomorrow at work, I am going to tell people that what they do is artistic. It seems to make people feel better and inspire them to work more/harder. "You take paperwork filing to an artistic level," or "You elevate your janitorial job to an art form." I'm still working on some of the phrases, but I think you get the gist. How about those foolish ladies from the bar? Did they not see that there are hurricanes and tornadoes aplenty? Also, whoever wired that bar was pretty amateur hour -- they put the neon signs on the emergency backup power grid! If I were the owner, after all of this weather had passed, I'd have an electrician in pronto to inspect for more dangerous problems.

I know, I think I may have to bring it up at work too. We are in sore need of inspiration. I think this would work great as a motivation.

I was totally with that lady too screaming at the storm, "STOP IT!" I wanted to hold her and tell her that this storm can't be hated like it's a super villain even though it seems like it's totally evil. I would show her a picture of Treat and point to it and say, "THAT is what you should be yelling at. THAT!"

They are now ceasing and desisting all rescue operations because the hurricane is soon to break land, but even while that was happening, I noticed that the rain was so severe it was literally running down the inside of the ambulance's windshield! That's pretty severe, folks. I am really concerned about the pregnant woman in the basement -- the dad seems fairly weak and of sub-par intelligence. The pregnant lady appears just to be in a mad panic about where to put candles.

HOLY COW... JVB and his lady friend have driven their car off the road -- is there any hope left for humanity at this point? :o

Things are certainly coming together, but that was pretty heart quaking to see the car go off the road like that! I almost fell of the edge of my seat, but I was able to grab onto the arms of the chair, and save myself from falling. What a scene!

I'm happy to hear that you are OK, W_Z. That's just one of the many reasons I will only sit in a chair with armrests. I need to take a biological break here before the show starts up again -- let me know if I miss anything in the next 55 seconds!

I hope you got back in time to see this touching and frightening scene between the pregnant woman and her dad. I just keep thinking about the baby and hope everything turns out all right but I'm scared just like that poor woman is. Her father tried to calm her down, I didn't realize arguing during child birth could be good for the baby or the mother...

I got back just in time to see the water heater fall on papi's leg. I am so worried for her! He is an old man and has lived a good life, but she has not only her young self to lookout for but that of her unborn child. This stress cannot be good for her either!

If anything comes out of this adventure, I hope JVB gets some with that hot chick. He deserves it after all he has put up with.

Agreed. He didn't know that this would happen. But that's what happens when you try and play God. I hope he has learned his lesson!

FINALLY! A preview for "Mercy". they sure waited long enough! I thought maybe they weren't going to be showing it this fall after all...I was relieved!

It seems a shame she is so worried -- doesn't she know about the buoyant properties of water? That heater will lift right off of his leg in about ten or fifteen minutes.

I find the disagreement between Trent and his crew troublesome. I wish they could at least get on the same page -- either they are going to try to save the world or they won't.

As an aside, if I was facing death via a weather storm and I was stuck in a bar, I'd pour myself a stiff one. The situation is out of your control anyhow, so why not try to take a bit of the edge off? With any luck, that electrical contractor wired up the Megatouch machine to the emergency power as well. A dirty martini and a game of Photo Hunt, and through the grace of God I shall survive.

You can't have that defeatist attitude, newper. I mean, sure a drink would be nice, but I'd rather try and get out of that mess and be proactive and *then* celebrate with a drink afterward. If I can't do anything about it, well, maybe you're right...maybe the best thing to do is enjoy your last minutes on earth.

But, man these guys need to work together for this climax!

And I was clapping so hard when the pregnant lady's guy and that other guy showed up! I hope they get out of that mess!!!

W_Z, I think it is purely academic to speculate as to what we would do in that situation. There's so much going on -- on both the physical and emotional level. I just hope at the end of the day I would survive to help others through similar situations in the future.

I agree -- VERY happy that the husband got home and hope he can save his lady, and his unborn, and his father-in-law.

JVB is having some issues with the power supply on these satellites... they need to figure it out! Just 10 minutes left!!!!!!!!!

OH MY GOD TREAT! I can't believe he pulled a gun on them after all they did! He deserved what he got, and I stood up and applauded when the hot brunette came in and BLEW HIS ASS AWAY!

Still great acting though! Most people take four bullets to the chest and just fall over -- he had a little King Kong action left in him.

Wow, a baby girl! I am so happy for that family... I know that they will be happy forever and ever.

I know it is a rocky restart for this bartender and meteorologist, but I hold out my best hopes for them as well.

Holy SHIT what a fall out!

You know, these people still have to sort out there lives...I kind of wish this would have a third part. I mean sure the physical storm is over, but the emotional storm that is thundering through all of these people's lives...I'd like to see it play out.

I got emotional when the baby girl was delivered...wow, that is so special and beautiful.

I'm glad JVB did in fact get the girl. But again, I'd like to see how their date goes. I guess we'll have to conclude that it works out well.

Her "house arrest at my place" line was also one of the funnier ones of the movie.

I think a sequel covering the emotional fallout would certainly be a good idea... if not a full blown mini-series, perhaps they could include a 20 minute featurette on the DVD.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but the Storm was no Meteor. Sure, they had some above par acting from Luke Perry, and John Lacquerette, but at the end of the day, the story is what sells the show. The Meteor was literally out-of-this-world, whereas The Storm was just a maniacal genius's plan gone awry. I think once the critics have weighed in, The Storm will prove to be nothing more than space dust to The Meteor.

I held a candle light vigil for the fallen last night before going to bed, and said a few prayers. But I agree with you, newper, that it was no "Meteor: Path to Destruction". However, let's put this in perspective a little bit, because it may be an unfair comparison. "Meteor" was clearly put together by some of the best brains of the industry, plus it came on *first*. "The Storm" had to follow that, and that's a hard thing to ask for. So "The Storm" did all it could do.

"Meteor" had a lot of great symbolism in it, too; the way the laptops represented the fragility of humanity, and the algorithms and coordinates represented how everything can be so complicated, and yet so simple too, depending on how we look at it. Plus, "Meteor" just had a better cast. You cannot beat Michael Rooker *and* Stacy Keach in the same movie. It's just such an achievement that "The Storm" could never measure up to.

We have to look at these as two different kinds of movies, otherwise we get into comparisons that are just unfair.
