OPV sitting in

The boards very own "Oak Park Vandy " wanted the class to be aware that he will have the honor of sitting in for Matti Spiegs this coming Friday and reuniting with Mackeyfish once again for a fun Friday mid-morning gabfest.

Vandy has sat in as a guest host in the past and has done a great job.Look forward to hearing the broadcast and seeing Vandy and others at the tailgate.

Fantastic. He was great when he sat in and I've liked the few times he has been on this past month. He is very good, funny, knowledgeable and he has a nice relationship with Mac. This will be a great show.

I was listening for a bit at lunch today, and I have to say it (the show) was just not working for me. Listening to stories about skin diseases and also how they hated to use the word fart or farting...but sharting was ok. Then heard the forced-fake laughter and I PTFB quickly. I'll listen again, but the little I heard today was a suckfest. Jury is still out for me on the show w/ Spiegs.

As of right now, Spiegel and Mac simply don't mesh well together. Spiegel is much more palatable solo or with any number of other co-hosts.

And the reason is that Mac was once Spieg's boss so to speak.

I hope that in time Spieg's sounds more natural when paired with Mac because I like him personally and professionally.

What makes this a good thing? Who is OPV and why should I care? He is no one. How about a newspaper guy or Drinky? If we are going to go with Mac's friends or periodic board members, lets just rotate guys off the board. Seems like a really bad idea.

Great? What are your standards for greatness? He is a non media member and a buddy of Macs. I wont discount the possibility he could be ok or even good, but lets not get carried away with great.

Oh, I'm aware. I tend to end my posts to people that disagree with that signature line. Very blunt and very cathartic.

My opinion OPV is great, listen Friday and see. Whenever I have heard him on the radio I always think he really should be doing it professionally instead of a guest role or phone call. I have no ALS but if I did I don't think he'd be at the top of it. I've only met him once, briefly and don't talk to him outside this board.

I've decided I have high standards, so if I say he is great it's true.
