Over the past few weeks I have run into some older gentlemen that knew North from the radio show he had and some from growing up. Old guys who now do some part time electrical work on the side, who a few even said they bowled with a Don North and they knew Mike.

All of them said the same thing to me. What a shithead he turned into. This was from 'his guys'

'I used to listen to him, but then everything was about how cool he was" or "He believed his own bullshit" none of this from me egging them on. And none of these guys have ever seen this website.

1. Old man drinking bar by my office that only old time drinking guys go to
2. Electrical guys working for me
3. Guy who owns a building on the N side I am working for
4. Garage where they are fixing my car.

Even with all this I think the slight chance that Mike has a rebirth as a radio guy exists. Just maybe one day he admits how nice it was to not write checks, but to recieve them, let someone else worry about the guests, the advertisers and who is the cohost. Not until he relinquishes his authority will it happen.

I agree! He got the break of a lifetime and made more money then he ever dreamed.
He needs to go back to his roots. (Not selling dogs) He should swallow his pride and go crash the gates at ESPN. They might give him his own show which he should not run.

You'd like to think so - but look at the list of failures that populate management - Drew Hayes, Ron Gleason, Paul Agase, the Hollanders - all have failed and yet continue to keep jobs - or get new ones. Thats only the sports list - how did the new guys at GN ever get here?

I bumped into Mike at a wake during the winter. He was very cordial. I always liked him and feel bad he has made some terrible business decisions. He tried to get things up & running with WEBIO. He tried to help some friends but reading some of the HATE filled posts on here and you would think he's plotting to overthrow the government. I know
he has made one bad career move after another. I wonder if he has any true friends or just a bunch of "yes" guys. Either that or the North Camp is WAAAYYY out of touch with what will work nowadays. It's not DONTFADEME or the WEBIO business model,that's for sure!

WHY would any guy lie about his charity involvement? What "good person" would try to make tthemselves look good by exagerating their charity work?

I imagine none of his true friends (the guys he hangs out with in EP) are allowed into the inner workings of his business ventures and he selects people for the latter based on their ability to be "yes" people in fact while conveying objectivity and brandishing courage to pull his reins back in appearance.

They are out of touch.

Sometimes people experience a reality check & it humbles them.
It remains to be seen if this happens to North. But I have know people who thought their shit didn't stink, hit rock bottom, & made a comeback with a different attitude.
North certainly isn't at rock bottm, with a 3 hour daily TV show.
People do what they do. Mike North is a radio / TV personality. It's what he will do until he retires.

I think it's gone too far. Sure North is a tool, but I think its gone to beating a dead horse now. If you have some personal issue with him that he hurt you or took your money or something like that, I can see why you'd be going after him. But now, for say me, who just knows him as a media personality, I think it's gotten too personal now on the board. Just my 2 cents.
