Apparently they killed, bluesy, stoner rock. Lived up to the hype and more.

The stuff remided of Kyuss. Grohl fucking killed. I really cannot stand the Foo Fighters, but Dave Grohl is a phenomal drummer. Josh Homme was top notch, his guitar work is always great, and he actually seemed like he was in a good mood (he usually acts like a prick). And John Paul Jones was great. They probably played the whole album they will be releasing (12 songs) and only one of them fell flat. It was hot as fuck in the Metro. I saw some dude dressed as a clown. Most of these "supergroups" turn out to be disappointments, but I think this one can live up to the hype. Im not sure how long they will tour and play together, but it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience to be at that show last night.

I appreciate the info, but do you have to be such a douchebag about it?

In all seriousness, I am looking forward to the record.
And I've always regretted selling my QOTSA tickets when they played Metro and Grohl was the drummer.
I did get over $200 for the pair, but still.......

I thought the same thing. I'm thinking there is probably a different explanation, though.

Dero said that they were the original choice to fill the headline spot at Lolla when the Beastie's had to back out due to MCA's medical issues. They declined and stuck to Metro for their debut.

I might be a douche, but I am not that douche.

I was there. I will be selling my concert poster I bought there on Ebay shortly. Dopes are buying those things online for up to $80, and it is a pretty lame poster overall. I bought it as a memento, but if I can quadruple my money, I will.
