There are TV shows we all watch, past & present, during the "Dog Days of Summer" that we've somehow become addictive & hooked to. For me, I would love to be a fly on the wall in the Los Angeles-based newsroom during the morning meeting on the TV version of "TMZ". Harvey Levin, the show's host, executive producer & managing editor, gathers his staff together around 6:30a (PT) or so every weekday morning to tape the video version of the popular celebrity Web site. What happens in that meeting is so bad, it's hilarious, and sometimes, Harvey's expression is absolutely priceless. If there's a show that you find so addictive, let's have some fun with this.

Documented on this board. A couple years ago when NFL Network was free on Comcast cable I got hooked on combine broadcasts. I watched hours and hours of o-line drills, shuffles, bench presses, etc. That's when myself and Dr Ken scouted Greg Olson as our dream pick for the Beloved. Our prayers to St Cotch for intercession were answered and the Bears drafted Olson.

I find that when there isn't much else on, but I see a mini-marathon of the
show "The First 48", I will sit and watch it for hours. For those of you not
familiar, it airs on A&E quite a bit and follows a murder from the moment the
cops get there until the following 48 hours are up or the crime is solved.
The premise is that if you haven't gotten a solid lead or have someone in
custody within the first 48 hours the trail is getting cold. It is a real good
show and can be extremely intense during certain episodes if you haven't
seen it before. Good TV when nothing else is worth watching.

SHARK, Next time you ask why Paris Hilton is famous. Remember...she's famous because of you...By watching her every move on TMZ and posting about her on a message board you have made her famous.

Thank you.

Turn off the damn TV and read a book, people!

I like Making His Band also. It's Doug's fault.

RP Bryan, Paris Hilton is famous not because of me, let alone TMZ. In fact, I doubt seriously Paris even knows who SHARK and ABeebe18 are. If anything, why she, Nicole Richie, Kimberly Stewart and the ditzsy Simpson girls, Jessica & Ashlee, are even famous baffles the hell out of me!

Yes yes yes!!! I didn't think that I would like it, especially since it involved P. Diddy Puffy Poof Daddy or whatever the fuck his name is. But I gotta say that there are some mighty fine musicians in the competition. I love when they keep upping the BPS on the metronome. Great stuff! 8) and I give tons of credit to Puff for trying to expand his music & improve his singing abilities.

I've praised Burn Notice here before, but I also like Psych (and the fact that they're ripping on The Mentalist as a ripoff of their show). I also get stuck watching Royal Pains. It ain't great, but it ain't bad either (and I dig on the two female leads).

I thought I made it pretty clear SHARK. You have just made them even more famous by posting about them AGAIN

Without SHARK's like you talking about them their celebrity would cease to exist.

Just saw an episode of this a couple days ago and I have to say it was pretty entertaining. The playing field seems a tad uneven, though, as there's at least 6 or 7 players at the bottom end of the ability spectrum and about the same amount at the top. If I had the wherewithal to check up on MTV's broadcast schedule I'd definitely tune in again.

(Re: footnote on P Diddy's broadening scope, he's just shamelessly chasing Kanye - if you can get past that, IMHO, it's kind of exciting that these guys are "bringing" "house music" "back")

Also:

I haven't watched this much television in years.

Spanky, that's a good one. :D It's the pop culture show of record with host Joel McHale, who stars in a new NBC comedy called "Parks and Recreation" this fall with ex-"Saturday Night Live" cast member Amy Poehler. "The Soup" is so good and so funny Fridays @ 9p with reruns all weekend on E!, that 2 other shows have been created along the same lines of Joel's show. During NHL season on VERSUS, DIRECTV 603, comic Matt Iseman debuted a similar show called "Sports Soup". Recently, Chris Hardwick, who used to host MTV's "Singled Out" with a certain former Chicagoan named Jenny McCarthy, debuted a similar show featuring all the funniest moments in this YouTube & Internet age called "Web Soup". It's on G4, which is DIRECTV 310, and debuts at 8p Mondays...I would check eonline.com or the local listings to find exact times for each of these shows mentioned above, complete with plenty of background laughter...

Smug? I think he's pretty gracious on Throwdown, even when he wins. Grill It is an entertaining show, too.

Is your opinion based on his TV personality or a personal encounter?

TV personality. I like almost every other personality from Food TV, hell I can even stomach Rachel Ray once in a bit but Flay just seems like a prick.

She's not the hottest woman on TV, but I have a thing for Stephanie, who's one of Flay's assistants on Throwdown. Just the right amount of sass, and she knows how to cook. And, no, I'm not talking about the old chick, Miriam.

you ever watch Marios show ? I like the set up and how it works, I wish I could go to his restaurant in NYC.
He is like EMril in that he seems to like pork fat.

While we're talking about food, has anyone in this message board ever seen "Hell's Kitchen" with Gordon Ramsay? :? It'll be on FOX32 tonight at 7p, and needless to say, it's not just the food Gordon doesn't care for...The walkouts by those competing are classic!

Never seen it, but I've heard good things. Anyone that espouses a love for pork fat is OK by me. Pork, by far, is my favorite thing to grill.

Last week, I made something from Steve Raichlen's Primal Grill, and the BBQ sauce included 2 or 3 TBLS of butter and 2 pieces of bacon. Well, if 2 pieces of bacon are good, then 3 are even better. So I rendered the bacon fat in with the butter and then added garlic and shallots before throwing in the rest of the ingredients. The final product was good, but my point is, the bacon fat made it even better!

"Life After People" on History Channel (on right now)
"Band of Brothers" whenever it's on
"Chopped" on Food Network. Sort of Iron Chef for the shorter attention-spanned.
Have there been any new "Check, Please"'s in the last year? All I see is reruns.
I'm really looking forward to "House," too.

I'm ashamed to admit i will catch this turd of a program from time to time, there is apparently something fascinating about Ramsey's boorish personality that i find entertaining.
