Hopefully this one jump starts them for a nice little run. They have 9 games coming up with teams that have much worse records than them. Sox need to take care of business then because for 2 weeks after that the schedule is unbelieveably brutal.

Frank, John Danks may have thrown a gem last night, but had it not been for Alexei Ramirez's three-run homer last night, he's the losing pitcher to Doug Fister(?) and the Mariners would've been thinking sweep tonight. I will agree with you about 9 in a row, starting with 3 this weekend vs. a really bad A's team in Oakland. Unfortunately for the White Sox, McAfee Coliseum as it's called now, has been as tough a ballpark for the Southsiders to play in as the Metrodome, regardless if the A's are good or bad.

If John Danks would have lost 1-0, that doesn't take away from how well he pitched.

Pods in center, instead of Rios???? That makes no sense. I thought the idea was to get Rios, so he could take over in Center and upgrade the defense, because Podsednik (while a good leadoff hitter) plays a lousy CF.

It's kind of a dillemma, due to:

Without Pods in the game, there really isn't a very good leadoff candidate, I don't know if you find Rios .320ish OBP very enticing, and they probably don't want to move Bacon out of the 2 hole, (Beckham is not really a prototypical 1 either)

Pods' can't really play right well enough (or center, for that matter) to put Rios in CF when both he and Pods are in the game. Moving Pods to left would be ideal, however then Quentin is DH or out of the game.

That leaves RF for Rios, with Dye getting a break or moving to DH. Dye has been bad since the break, so i don't mind seeing him get a few days off here and there.

I would imagine that we are going to see quite a few different lineups.

Chris Getz is out of this game tonight due to a groin injury, which explains why Jayson Nix is at second base...There's a good chance Nix may start Friday night in Oakland as well due to lefty Brett Anderson starting at "Mt. Davis" when the trip heads down the coast. As much as I'm tired seeing Ozzie platoon Nix & Getz, I hope #17's groin injury isn't too serious because I like his lunchbucket, grinder-like effort. Meanwhile, as for Alex Rios, Jermaine Dye's been scuffling badly since the All-Star Break and he also needs a breather. Last but not least, if Mark Kotsay doesn't play once a week at first base for Paul Konerko, why is he even here?

Stu, I think they've got trains sounding not just at Safeco Field, but also down at Minute Maid Park in Houston...

I've got other shit to do, but from what I saw Felix looks on. Hopefully they can break thru later on and grab a W.

While Felix Hernandez is done for the night after 7 innings, Mark Buehrle's still in there in the 8th w/runners at 1st & 2nd and 1 out...No score!

Mark Buehrle went 8 innings without a run scoring, but he won't figure in the decision of this scoreless tie in the bottom 9th. Matt Thornton pitching to force extras in Seattle...

Extra innings coming up after Thornton retires the M's in order in the bottom 9th...No score! Somebody get Ranger in the SCORE Studios a cup of coffee, along with whoever's back in the Comcast SportsNet studios...

Nice 12-5 pounding asswipe. Still haven't won a series vs. a + .500 team since April. Nice team ya got there.

Factually incorrect. They had a winning series (swept em in fact) vs the Marlins in May. The Marlins are over .500 dipshit.

Had you been correct in your statement (But you were NOT correct), it would not have changed the fact that the Sux failed to score a single run vs the Mariners last night and dropped their 2nd straight series.

How about the Cubs falling even further behind the Cards because they cannot compete with what few good teams there are in the NL?

The Sox sucked in Seattle, and against Cleveland plain and simple.

This has been reported on the Score for days. Maybe Hanley and Mully are the dipshits. You've been known to report factually INACCURATE items as well.

You continue to amaze.

The series you refer to started in April and it was not a sweep. Factually, you are incorrect on both fronts because a series that starts in April can be considered an April series just like this football season is referred to as the 2009 NFL season when it will finish in 2010.

All righty Stevie, if you want to discount April (whatever) and say since May, your team still BLOWS. That is a pathetic-ass statistic. Anyhoo, we all know Tony Pena sucks but he'd most likely start on the Cubs.

The series included the 3 games the Cubs took in May, as well as the 1 in April. When 3 of 4 games were played in May, it cannot be considered accurate that the Cubs had not won a series against a team with a winning record since back in April. The 3 staright taken in May, dispells that notion.

Well, it wasn't a sweep. At least you admit you were wrong which is a fine start.

You can't say someone is wrong if they consider that series to be an April series. I'm not going to argue any further but the series could be called an April series. Just because you find it convenient to call it a May series does not change that fact.

Would it make things better to say that the Cubs haven't won a series against a team with a winning record since May 4th?

So Ken Griffey, Jr. smacked a game-winning RBI single to break the scoreless deadlock in the 14th. Why wasn't Griffey more productive when he was in the White Sox silver & black last year?

I went to bed after the 8th. Did the the Panzy really get picked off 3rd in the 10th?? He had to set the record for most times picked off in one season. I don't care if AJ hits leadoff Ozzie needs to sit his dumb ass on the bench. His baserunning is fucking pathetic.
