Is it bad that I am kind of excited for this?

Bruce Willis Will Join Sylvester Stallone And Arnold Schwarzenegger On Screen In 'The Expendables'
Posted 8/17/09 2:00 pm ET by Larry Carroll in News

They are three legends of the silver screen. Separately, they've made dozens of films that have had a huge impact on the lives of moviegoers. Fans have been wanting to see them unite on screen for decades. Now, the trio are finally planning to make a movie together.

“I want to send best wishes to Sly,” Bruce Willis said with a grin when we spoke with him last week. “And the Governor of California, my old pal Arnold.”

The “Die Hard” star confirmed to MTV News that he is leaving time open on his schedule to shoot a cameo for “The Expendables,” the ultra-violent, star-studded action flick written/directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone. Sly is currently putting the finishing touches on the movie, which also stars Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke as mercenaries overthrowing a South American dictator. Willis said that the he will soon join Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to shoot a very special scene for the flick.

“Not yet, I haven’t united with them,” said Willis. “I’m waiting for a call from Sly about when we’re going to try and make that happen.”

Willis’ confirmation is huge news to fans who grew up in the 80s and 90s idolizing the three biggest movie stars in the world – but only saw them together in footage of “Planet Hollywood” openings, a themed restaurant venture they famously launched in 1991. Although various projects – including the soon-to-open “Inglourious Basterds” – have been rumored as films that could unite the men who gave us Rambo, the Terminator and John McClane, it's never become a reality until now.

“I don’t know anything about [my character] yet, haven’t seen any pages yet,” Willis explained. “But I’m excited about it.”

Willis confirmed to us that the scene will involved himself, Arnold and Sly together on camera. “That’s the concept,” he said with a grin. “That’s the plan.”

"The Expendables"' massive cast of muscled action heroes also features such tough-guy notables as Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, Terry Crews and Randy Couture. The film is due in theaters next April.

Jimmy P has been ranting about this movie and I admit it has caught my attention now - to have that many stars in one film will kind of be the equivolent of Ocean's 11 - I just wonder what kind of budget that this film has?

You figure Arnold, Sly and Bruce alone could command 20 Mil each - not to mention the others involved.

Looks like it's just a cameo. One scene. Not $20 million material.
Now, if it were called The Relevants and had you, STU and Elmhurst Steve in a scene... we're talking big bucks there.

During this fight, I've seen a lot of changing, in the way you feel about me, and in the way I feel about you. In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than twenty million. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change! [loud applause, even by the politburo]

Now if they sent Elmhurst Steve to Russia this whole Communism mess would have been straightened out in about 15 minutes....but I digress

 Very nice.

I would buy you a beer after Hoops 5: The Reckoning, Darkside. But your calls to local sports radio shows come across a bit amateurish. Step up your game, patnah...

Expendables with no Chuck Norris? I guess no room for a REAL tough guy!

this makes me feel old.

i still remember opening night of "Planet Hollywood" in chicago, and how RELEVANT it was back then, and how they were relevant too.

now they're just...props, essentially. for us who grew up with them.

I read about this in Muscle and Fitness magazine a couple of months ago.

Terry Crews, Randy Couture and Steve Austin are also in it.

...as well as the eye candy known as Charisma Carpenter. Hopefully she does some full frontal.

I wish Sly would play up the gore like he did in Rambo.
