Is it just me or is Laurence Holmes everywhere on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com these days? :? Just because WSCR pulled the plug on that midday show with LoHo & Dan Hampton about 3 months ago doesn't mean we've heard the last of these two by any means. Turn on 670 AM in the afternoon and whenever Terry Boers and/or Dan Bernstein are away, instead of Matt Abbatacola & Jason Goff pinch hitting, LoHo is somehow the new designated fill-in on "Boers & Bernstein". With Mike Murphy all but out of the picture completely, LoHo's holding court weeknights at 6p, whether there's a White Sox game or not. Also, LoHo continues to get face time for some reason, whether it's talking sports in general on FOX32's "Good Day Chicago", joining Joel Weisman and his panel on WTTW 11's "Chicago Tonight: The Week in Review", and the last 2 years on NBC5's Sunday morning newscast which has since been cancelled. Well, guess what? Tomorrow, LoHo pinch hits for the Ranger with pre & postgame duty for the White Sox/Angels' game starting at 2:35p on 670 The SCORE & the Chicago White Sox Radio Network while the Ranger is taking in the sold out U2 concert at Soldier Field. Lucky Ranger! If that's not enough, LoHo holds court Sunday night around 6p after the White Sox/Angels' game concludes, building a bridge to the Bears/Packers' "Sunday Night Football" season premiere. What's next? LoHo on the train wreck that's "Sports Sunday: The Postgame Show" on NBC5 later that night? I don't know about you, but enough is enough!

Negative...SHARK's not from Elmhurst. It seems as if LoHo's got so much more airtime than usual, and he was giving the Ranger the business earlier tonight because he's got tickets to the sold out U2 concert tomorrow at Soldier Field...

He is going to get paid if he is on the air or not. It is cheaper to use a salaried employee than to pay a pinch hitter.

Too much LoHo? I look at it as a fishing analogy: he's casting lines to see if any bite. I've no problem with that. Zach does a lot of that, too. Heh, so did Sweica, but she ended up doing segments on WTTW.

SHARK, have you read his blog? I hear he updates some 4 to 75 times a day!

SHARK operates under the premise that he posts at a Chicago sports media board where nobody actually knows anything about Chicago sports media, and thus it is his unique responsibility to inform us. "Fans of SCORE backup and 'Boers & Bernstein' associate producer Jason Goff will be excited to know that the young up-and-comer is holding court tomorrow night from 8 to 10, on the CBS-owned sports talker." Fans of Jason Goff here would've found out by themselves.

Now that White Sox season is over, LoHo will hold court weeknights 6-10p on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com. One of the things LoHo has brought back to nighttime..."The Subliminal Song of the Night" at approximately 6:55p. LoHo, you can do much better than playing a couple minutes of Rick Astley...Bad, bad, bad! And it sucks too! :x

Holmes might be the only guy who wanted the gig? However, not sure why it is offered to him, especially solo.
This is one of my huge problems with the way the Score is run. Just because a guy has been there he gets offered a gig. even though he has had numerous gigs that have failed! And he keeps rolling out the crap!

Could someone try and explain to me why Holmes is back on the air with the 6-10 timeslot, yet Murph is ALSO still on the payroll but hasn't been heard in months? Do people really prefer Holmes over Murph? You old-timers can educate me. Is it that Murph won't work nights? I have no idea, and would like to know.

Yes, I would rather hear Larry than Murph. Of course I don't listen to either. Gun to head though, I would choose LoHo.

I'd imagine that most of Murph's true fans probably don't read or post on this board, but Holmes and Murph both lost their timeslots when McNeil returned. Murph hasn't been heard from, and it's like Holmes never left. Just wondering why.

Pretty soon, we may have to put Mike Murphy's face on a milk carton...Miss a little, miss a lot? Believe it. Things have gotten so bad for Murph, if you check out the schedule at 670thescore.com this week, feast your eyes on this:

FRIDAY
10p-Midnight Yahoo! Sports "Fantasy Freak Show"
SATURDAY
2-6p Matt Rodewald & NBC5's Bruce Wolf
6-8p Drinky
8p-12Midnight "Joe & Rock Show" w/Joe Ostrowski & John "Rock" Mamola

Get the picture?

Murph used to be a good listen in the evenings.

I could do without the subtle hints that Chicago fans are racist if they have issues with Lovie Smith or Cedric Benson.
