Everyone hear knows I'm older then Moses' breath, but I recently picked up a CD I never heard before. The Beatles "White Album". There is one song on there that was "new" to me.
"Cry,Baby,Cry" was one Beatles song that I'm not sure I ever heard before. I love it . To me,it was like finding a lost treasure, because I love the moptops. On the other hand, there are without a doubt some songs (31 in all) on this CD that I had to skip because they were not pleasing to my ear. That is a 1st for a Beatles album. Ahh,living in the past is so much fun!

I agree with Zeppelin. No way with the Beatles. The music they have created is amazing.
I have yet to hear anything that even approaches it.

Great point me in the right direction: The Cubs were very good in 67!

"Revolution 9" played an important part in the infamous "Paul is dead" conspiracy theory. Most notably, the repeated "number nine" played backwards can be heard as "Turn me on, dead man." Various snippets of speech included in the recording were heard as hints left by the band about Paul's alleged death.

Plus a Doors guy. Now there was a guy who died too fast. Imagine if he lasted 5 more years.

exactly...the Doors would have faded anyway.
I would have loved to have heard what Hendrix would have come up with though.

I don't think you can compare LZ to the Beatles....
That is as fair as comparing Black Sabbath to LZ.
and the Stones? eh....never really cared for them.

Beatles had the most global impact on music. Sabbath created metal. LZ wrote the best rock songs.
and the Stones refuse to die... :P

a general observation:
do any of you think that music lovers who never did drugs tend to suggest that the "psychedelic" bands are overrated?

does that make sense?

is there a distinction in "rock music" between beer drinkers and beer/drug users?

Beer Drinkers = "Aerosmith and Nickleback are the two greatest bands ever"

Drug Users = "Jim Morrison speaks to me, man"
