Thumbs down to your SHARK concerning an earlier post. Factually speaking, "The Office", not "30 Rock", is one of the 8p opponents going head-to-head with the 2nd season of "Fringe" on FOX. Reruns of the Steve Carell series premiere Monday at 6:30 & 10p on FOX32, just so you know...

You're both wrong ... Fringe has no competition.

The writing and plotting is so much better on American Dad than Family Guy. They actually have to construct stories, which still subvert the conventions of the 22-minute sitcom as Family Guy used to do well while interjecting its cutaway gags.

McFarlane et. al. have gotten too bogged down in the meta shit the last 2 seasons of FG. Family Guy takes bigger risks, so when it succeeds, it succeeds at a higher level than American Dad, but it's been less inconsistent. The misses have outweighed the hits lately. And when it misses the show is painfully unfunny.

I agree that Stew-roids was great: "I'm really into John Mayer now. YOU'D BETTER BE OK WITH IT!"

You have one leg sir.

I only watched the first episode because I downloaded it for free to my iPhone with the intention of killing 23 minutes at my kid's soccer practice and it was still all I could do to not turn it off immediately. First episode was awful and I never went back.

I will not try Community because, with the exception of Seems Like Old Times and kinda Fletch, I'm not a Chevy Chase guy.

Thing is though, "Fringe" was one of the most popular rookie shows of last season, and FOX puts the latest J.J. Abrams series in quite a tough time slot...

I don't get this move on Fox's part. Why take good new show and put it up against established popular shows? Seems like a good way to greatly reduce new viewers.

On a selfish level, of the 8-9 shows that my wife and I watch/DVR, I think 6 of them are on Thursday night. Thursday at 8 especially, with Fringe, CSI and Grey's. Throw in NFL/college football games and the limits of the number of HD and DVR channels in use can become a problem.

It happens all the time in TV, casual fan. There were many people inside TV who scratched their heads when the docs of "Grey's Anatomy" were penciled in at 8p Thursdays vs. "CSI:", even with Chicago's own William Petersen leaving the show last season. As it turns out, ABC's gamble appeared to have paid off in the overall ratings, where "Grey's" and "CSI:" on CBS are two of the most popular shows currently on the air. My dad happens to be a big fan of the original "CSI:", even when Petersen left. He never misses an episode.

co-sign. They need to 86 that storyline asap. Dumbest move ever making them a couple.

24 (obviously)
Bones
House
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
The Simpsons
Family Guy
American Dad
The Cleveland Show (I'll give it a chance) BTW, when did Cleveland JR get so fucking fat?
Mythbusters
Man VS Wild (I think they are near the end of the season actually)
American Chopper (If it's coming back)

I think I'm forgetting one or two shows. I don't watch many of them live, just DVR them and watch later.

Of course the NFL, and WWE. I also watch a lot of Discovery, History, and Military Channels. i usually watch Comedy Central's Secret Stash and their Celebrity Roasts as well.

Special Ops Mission is another show I watch. Picked it up a couple episodes into the season, but it's good stuff. http://www.channelguidemag.com/articles/special_ops_mission_military_0709.php

It's like One flew over the cuckoo's nest, but with house being a smartass and making fun of the disabled people. So it's pretty much the best shit ever :alien:

I thought he was going to be in the crazy house all season long, for a season opener it really didn't do anything for me. He got laid, he rapped and he moved on... Now onto the house that we have known for the last few years...

random thought: AMY FREEZE IS HOT!!!!

Always Sunny last Thursday was one of the best and funniest episodes I've ever seen. Watched it twice, it was great.

Did anyone catch the PopSci's Future of Communication last night on the Science channel? It looked really interesting. I caught it while it was in the middle of the show so I didn't watch it and am waiting for the next recording. There seems to alot of intersting stuff on the Science channel.
