In what could possibly be one of the biggest blunders in the history of the AM dial, Mike North put his cred, reputation, and integrity on the line over a far fetched idea that wasnt even planned nor thought out correctly, sacrificing the names and enployment of many a stupid mutt who followed this pied leper into that empty, dead air that is now Chicagosportswebio.com.

Now, did this even get a chance to succeed?
Even without a convicted felon backing this project, the idea of an internet radio station that wasnt simulcast from a radio antenna has no hope of staying afloat without the financial backing of somebody with deep pockets, preferably clean cash that isnt being used to scheme others out of coin.
As the story goes, Nort was at some meeting where the head of CBS was telling everybody the internet was the wave of the future. Funny thing is, Nort prolly heard this, and ran to a pay phone without hearing the part about simulcasting the station.

"Hey, Bee? I's gots this great ideas. Ima start one of those's intranet radio stations so I's can stick it to da Score's for low balling me"

Now, is Nort mentally unstable? His last few weeks at the Score turned into such a train wreck, they didnt let the guy finish his on air schedule. The shows were so hateful and spiteful, they made this mind cripple look not only broken, but humiliated.His jumping to conclusions at a troll email (wink wink) turned him into a blabbering idiot who would change topic's, but couldnt help himself and go right back to his target.

He was so butthurt over the Score lowballing him with what he said has "an embarrassment", he ran into the waiting arms of a convicted felon who just wanted to be famous, Ponzi scheme be damned.

Was Nort so dam determined to try and screw the Score that he blindly went into a business venture with a crimminal?

Now, theres no other answer to this then "yes".

There isnt any kind of excuse for not doing due dilligence in a huge business endeavor where theres potention down the road.....waaaay down, that there could be a profit to be gained.And how anybody could say they used a Google search as a means to check somebody's background information, that reeks not only of stupidity, but of desperation.

Once the info started coming out about the true relationship between Hernandez and North, the big mouthed Nort suddenly, possibly by legal advice, decided to shut up.

Nort tried to play the hero card, giving those who blindly followed him handouts, and letting everybody who listened how he stood there in front of the stations doors while DH drove around, knowing Hernandez "wanted no part of him".All the while those who's checks bounced had no alternative but to look at themselves in the mirror and blame themselves.

Gone were the days of George Offman, in his smugness, demanding first class treatment to cover a hockey team in a town that barely knows they have a hockey team, running up steak dinners and charging them to those who's monies were raped from them by false intention, and offering no apology but telling anyone that this was how a radio station should be run, the whole time a laughing stock who nobody even acknowledges while on CTL, staring into the camera with "somebody hire me" eyes of desperation.

Or Jesse Rodgers proudly proclaiming how he would "do it again" if the chance came again, while hes writing idiot logic blog articles while getting paid a quarter per 100 clicks.

Or the other countless, nameless fools who cried and moaned on freshly registered internet blogs how they had no other alternative but to take handouts and sympathy for their own wrong doings, too good to actually take a regular job as their pride wouldnt let them be the guy who refills the breadstick basket at Olive Garden, even if just to make ends meet.


And as times hit hard, Mike Nort, the once great humanitarian who looked out for all those who followed him, kept on with his television show while he hoped those who got burned would just shut the fuck up.And to this day, has been in the public eye, while the lesser lemmings are demonstrating their sales pitches for grocery bagger gigs at the local Jewel.


So, what have we learned?

First off, an exclusive internet radio channel has no way of succeeding for at least the next decade, for 99% of the cars on the road dont have internet access. Ipod and 3G phones are not at the stage yet to offer even a decent reception for such, and until theres something more important than a Chicago radio channel, arent even an option.


Oh yeah, and dont let Mike Nort near anything that involves money, your career, or in any position that involoves studying the character of a person.



And BTW, North's book is riding the clearance bins at Borders for 99 cents.

I remember Mike talking about Dan Mason at the annual CBS meeting talking about the internet content and Mike came back talking about it on the air like someone just discovered Oxygen!
What Mike does not comprehend is that he got his winning lottery ticket! That's it! He really thinks he is a smart guy, when he really is a fool, who keeps thinking because he made money he must be smarter than everyone else?
North always stepped on Jordan for not putting up his own money. So if Mike thinks the webio thing is such a great idea, then he can put up his own money?

The most amazing thing is:Was making 1.2 mil (per year) got offered 450,000 (guesstimate). He went home & told Be:"that was not good enough!" My wife would have asked if I had a better offer. The answer would be NO. She then would have said: "Take the money,moron!" End of story!

i have a pc in my car. it has internet radio. chronixradio.com metal is awesome. i used to get comcast monster mornings because it was simulatecasted onto the internet, but ever since the mexicans ruined mikes career i cant do that anymore. i dont have comcast so i have no way of tracking mikes success anymore. from what i can tell, nobody complains about mike anymore, it used to be non stop but it looks like everyone has warmed up to him and jiggs and jen. good thing too, i convinced my company to start advertising on the morning monster and it looks like things will mesh. i hope the best for mike, i still remember the days when he was on the score and he was the face of the score. and dan bernstein was still a bitch back then just as he is now. i will get comcast next week because i want to get the bulls games even though terry boers hates life and says its not worth it. mike should take over 1-6pm and jiggs can take over for mully and handjob and mattabattacolla can have from 9 to 1 because there needs to be somebody at that spot after firing whoever that was doing it.
