Anyone notice that the 1st down line is there sometimes and sometimes it isn't? What the hell is going on?

If they are talking about beer or cars when the line isn't there, then it's a commercial.

I wish I was watching this missing line. I got stuck with the st louis vs washington game. One of the worst possible games of the entire season. Why the hell is this on TV. I'm in ohio which is no where near either market. WTF Fox?

They could have went with Minnesota/Detroit, which is nearer to you, or they could have gone with the more meaningful games of NO/Philly or Carolina/Atlanta.

This Min/Det game has been very entertaining. Divisional game, Favre getting sacked 4 times.... Peterson getting stuffed, then BREAKING ONE OUT then getting stuffed. Detroit has been better than I thought this year, might be an 8 game team????

Originally, my DIRECTV program guide had Saints/Eagles scheduled for FOX32 in Chicago, which turned out to be quite a shootout for Drew Brees & New Orleans. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver got assigned to call what was FOX Sports' marquee game for Week 2, while Ron Pitts & onetime ex-Bear John Lynch got assigned the Vikings/Lions' game, which was a lot closer to Chicago. The same thing happened on CBS Sports, although it was cool to see the Bengals upset the Packers in Green Bay with Ian Eagle & Rich Gannon providing the descriptions in Game 1 of the doubleheader with Steelers/Bears following with Jim Nantz & the real Phil Simms. I'm not sure who FOX is sending to Seattle's Qwest Field for the Bears/Seahawks' game Sunday. Something tells me you might get your first taste of Pitts & Lynch, Thom Brennaman & Brian Billick or Chris Myers & Trent Green Sunday in Seattle...

Better? Yes. 8 games? Probably not. They aren't near as bad as they were last year but if I had to guess I'd go with 5 games....tops.

I was watching The Redzone on Comast and they had the Cards/Jags on. I think Chris Myers was doing this game...regardless, whoever it was had the worst calll of the day for a touchdown. Josh Skobie missed a FG for the Jags and one of the Cards players ran it back for a TD. The call went something like this:

"So and so for the Cardinals...is running down the sideline...(dead air)...and nobody seems to want to tackle him...(more dead air)...........and "so and so" is still running to the 10, the 5......AND IT'S A TOUCHDOWN!!!"

It was almost as if he wasn't sure if he should be describing the game or not...like it was in slow motion. It was really strange and uncomfortable.

Chances are, when you get a game on FOX Sports with Chris Myers/Trent Green or a CBS Sports' game with either Don Criqui/Randy Cross or Bill Macatee/Steve Beuerlein, that's not good...That's gotta be the 1% game in regards to how much of the USA will see that game. I have a feeling that Joe, Troy & Pam are headed up to Minneapolis to watch Brett Favre's home debut with the Vikings vs. the 49ers. Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston & Tony Siragusa might be headed up to Foxborough, MA to watch the Falcons/Patriots, while Sam Rosen & Tim Ryan might be headed down to Tampa to watch the Giants/Buccaneers. Ron Pitts & John Lynch might be St. Louis-bound to watch the Packers & Rams, while Dick Stockton & Charles Davis might be headed up to Detroit to see if the Lions beat the Redskins...or NOT! If Thom Brennaman & Brian Billick get the Saints/Bills' game, that might leave Chris & Trent to call...Bears/Seahawks?

Eaglo, you might get stuck with one of the following NFL/FOX teams Sunday, and right now, it's educated on my part:
Dick Stockton/Charles Davis
Ron Pitts/John Lynch
Chris Myers/Trent Green

If Myers is calling the game, I wonder if he'll mistake Green for Jeff Hammond and Curt Menefee for Dick Berggren...

There is a distinct possiblity they lose their next 4 games. they've got a shot against STL. All joking aside they might win 3. That's about it.

Reents, whenever Dick "Ball Four...Strike Three!" Stockton calls a Bear game on FOX, they lose. :( By the way, whenever I hear "B & B" play Stockton's call of that delayed third strike call during a MLB/FOX Sports' game between the White Sox & Orioles earlier this season, it cracks me up!

Lynch never played for the Bears....

Tampa, Denver, New England.

   Jim Cutler, by the way, is the voice of ESPN Radio, WGN's CW9 and Versus, which DIRECTV no longer airs...for now. :(
