Alright, in advance.... :cheese: :cheese: :eye: :eye: :eye:

There are some songs that when you hear them, just make you feel better and make everything seem alright. Last night on my way home from work, I heard "Listen to the Music". Those intro chords really strike a nerve...don't know what it is, maybe just the combination of sounds and chord changes. I'm not really a Doobie Brothers fan either, per se.

You guys got any?

or am I just really that strange? (probably shouldn't have thrown that question out)

First of all, you are really strange and that's probably why I like you.

Secondly, I will indulge you with a couple.

From the "capturing my feminine side" - "Put your records on" - Corinne Bailey - it makes me feel good.

From the "Stuck in the 80's" - "Always something there to remind me" Naked Eyes. "Take on Me" - Aha

From the "Feelin good mon" category - "3 Little Birds" Bob Marley.

From the "Rock Your Socks off 80's" - "Silent Lucidity" - Queensryche

Off the top of my head, whilst waiting from a call back from some asswipe, here's a smattering from all fields ...

Fooling Yourself (Styx)

Hold Your Head Up (Argent)

The Theme from The Jeffersons (play it several times in a row)

FM Steely Dan

Clair de Lune DeBussy

I chuckled at this one only because I have been caught going through the house humming this damn tune without even realizing it.

That and "Don't Worry Be Happy".

You ever see the Video for American Soldier , blows me away.

Bad is just so good , just depressing never heard anyone say it is a feel good song.
Crosstown Traffic makes me tap along as well from Jimi.

Youre right about Bad being about heroin addiction, weird but its really upbeat, and if I didnt know what it was about, and you told me it was about getting over a breakup, that would totally make sense too. Its just so good and live when Bono still had the great voice was AWESOME. Stole the show at Live Aid. Walk On is also a happy song for me.

Here's the story behind my favorite "feel good" song:
It was the day I was defending my dissertation and I was cautiously nervous. My office mate always complained that my music in the office was too sad/angry/depressing and she told me that I had to relinquish control of the cd player to her for the day and right before I went to my defense, she said she had a 1-2 song combo that would put me in a happy mood and she put on "Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!" and "Let the Cool Goddess Rust Away" and she was right, very feel good. My defense went well and as a happy defense gift my office mate got me CYHSY CD.
