Steve Harvey made me laugh this morning. Before his strawberry letter segment or whatever it is, he announces it is his show and he is going to play songs he wants to play. Could it be...the start of Bennie and the Jets by Elton John? Alright Steve. Play what you want. At the end of the song. He won't shut up about what a great tune it is...so he plays it AGAIN. Played almost 3 minutes of it over the consternation of the others in the studio. A couple of amusing comments about how Elton is playing with his but off the bench...love to own those suits and so forth.

Not SHOUTOUT worthy, but noteworthy. I don't think Elton John is widely loved by his show's target audience. It definitely was not in the studio. Kind of a screw you if you don't like it. Seemed like a bold act IMO for a syndicated show like his. Pretty funny.

They play Bennie abd The Jets quite a bit on V103 & Soul 106.3.

Great if they play it, but back to back during prime time? To me, these shows follow some kind of script and rarely vary. He broke the script and good for him. That was more my point.
