I'm just hoping they gradually phase him out like Jesse and maybe he finds a job in another market, but he always seems to be on the front of the bench, just waiting to invade the airwaves like a virus.

He's not great but I don't find him unlistenable. I like him.

His solo show at night is not bad, and I admit I like it as well. Whenever he is paired with anyone though I don't like him nearly as much

Did this guy get some type of lifetime failure award at the last CBS meetings, so he gets whatever on air jobs open? or is this payback for Mac taking over the great Holmes and Hampton show.
I had the honor of turning off his show TWICE this evening. Once when I got into my car, he was getting into his "This is so cool" and I PTFB, then got home and went to OFF.
Hopefully, this will be the last time Holmes gets his own show and someone else starst getting the share of fill in time.
Mac brought some fresh blood to the station in Spiegel, but not sure why it took Mac to bring in a guy who was more than availbale for a station that could use some new people. Holmes is not new and the furthest thing from a good host.

Is Holmes the Harry of the Score?

Northside, LoHo is OK as a solo host, but pairing him with "Stuttering" John Melendez, I mean Dan Hampton, was a disaster from the getgo. I wish SCORE management would give other guys on that bench a chance to host now that White Sox season is over. With the exceptions of CBS Radio Sports/Westwood One's national coverage of "Monday/Thursday Night Football" the next couple of months and the occasional college basketball game involving DePaul & NIU this winter, local sports talk is what 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com will have Monday-Friday after dark.

LoHo's new evening show all but mutes the likes of Jason Goff & Matt Abbatacola, who are lucky to even get an airshift these days. Other than the Saturday morning show he now does w/Steve Rosenbloom, Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch's main duties at WSCR are doing sports updates during "B & B" and occasionally at night. Also, Matt Rodewald, who sounds like ESPN's John Clayton but is the "Dancing Fool" at the end of NBC5's Friday morning newscast, holds court Saturday 2-6p w/Bruce Wolf. Finally, I heard him doing updates last night w/Les Grobstein, but when is Connor McKnight going to get more airtime? He won the "Pepsi Max SCORE Search" this summer, but Connor's gotten very little work since he won!

Holmes has applied for jobs in other markets - including Milwaukee where I used to work - but he was never hired.

I could live without LoHo bringing back the "Subliminal Song of the Night" near the end of the first hour, along with the horror music whenever the Minnesota Twins are mentioned on his show...LoHo, save the horror music for "Svengoolie" please!

I actually happened to hear him talking the comeback of the "Subliminal Song of the Night" about a week or so ago, and he was extremely excited about bringing it back.

Larry always has this fake excitiment about every stupid thing he does. It's phony and everybody listening picks up on it. "Oh boy, are you all ready for the pulse? I'm soooooo excited." Has he stopped doing "The Pulse"? I don't listen to his night shows at all. Never heard much of the Hamp and Holmes show. The only time I hear him is when he subs on the B&B show. Nothing he does is interesting. Nothing he says is interesting.

Hey, now that he has a regular night show, will the Score have different subs for the B&B show? They should. He has a regular slot. Keep him there and get different subs for B&B.

By the way, the promo on the Score with Larry telling everybody about his night show is annoying too.

I've known enough of them for TM's question to make sense based on your post above said question.

No. It's far more innocuous .. at least my guess is.

Tonight, LoHo brought back his former partner from that train wreck of a midday show...Yes, "Stuttering" Dan Hampton will be doing a weekly Wednesday Bears/NFL hit around 6:40p on the LoHo nighttime show... :x Want more? "Hampton & Holmes" are reuniting for the Bears' pregame show on 670 The SCORE next Sunday, October 18th before the Bears' second appearance on "The Al & Cris Show", better known as "NBC's Sunday Night Football". This is because Hub Arkush is on assignment working the sidelines for the national Westwood One broadcast of the Bears/Falcons' game in Atlanta...

I don't think he is fake. I think he is a little geeky but that's not necessarily a bad thing. He trys too hard to fit in sometimes but I think he is a little insecure. Seems like nice guy though. That's probably why I think he is better alone than with a partner like some of you.

I'm not sure why, but I actually liked Hamp and Holmes.
Hamp may have some trouble articulating his thoughts, but he is not a dumb guy.

I listened to Laurence tonight and I just like the show. It's the right mood for an evening listen. It's pretty light, kind of goofy. I was as critical as anybody of his other shows but this one is "just alright with me" as a great man, well, a good man, well, a man once said.

He still hates to be called Larry though. He kind of went all "Murph" on a guy that called him that who I don't think meant anything by it.

I like Laurence solo in the evening too.

Listened tonight for the first time in a while and he wasn't as bad as he's been in the past. And I mostly agree with Spaulding that he sounds more insecure and geeky than anything else, though to some that may come off as an unnecessarily condescending or falsely arrogant.

All in all, it's still not a perfect show, and I still don't care for Laurence as a host, regardless of format or time slot. But he's definitely better alone while not trying to impress a co-host.

I agree 100%

As soon as I hear LoHo, it is PTFB time for me. I have heard enough of him to last forever. I can't imagine anything he could say that I would find interesting.

I don't know how anyone who listens doesn't find his emotions to be contrived.

I liked this about the old WWF. I find it to be PTFB with live radio though.
