Damn, I had a hard time choosing which show to go to this Friday: Rhett Miller or Mike Doughty. The wife and I chose Rhett Miller. Good thing I didn't know about this HUGE show at Durbin's at the time. I would've had to choose between 3 highly-desireable shows.

In closing - I'm really gonna try not to make it to this one.

And 65 miles is the distance RPB, a 1.5 hour drive. Chicagoland nothing. ever drove on 94 from 120 to 95th? On a friday?

Ok let me put it like this...if you can get to the city in under 45 mins on a friday night (after rush hour) E.P. is 12 mins from downtown if you drive correctly

15 miles in 12 minutes? not even at 3:30 am....can't be done. fastest i ever made it was 22 minutes from Racine/Grand to 100th and Kedzie.

i'm looking at 55 miles and an hour minimum from the Mund. taking 294 to 95th.

Ok my starting point is a little south...I get on at China town 22nd...from there I can get to 111th in under 15 mins

Ok I just google mapped it from 2200 Cermak to 95th is 18 minutes and we all know Google maps drives like a grandma so 15 mins is easy

RPB, I appreciate your efforts here but I cannot and will not fault Doug or Darkside for not getting thier passports out and making the long trek south.

Sometimes they do, but there are lots of times that downtown to 95th st/Evergreen Park can be more like an hour.

My usual 30 minute commute is generally about an hour on Fridays.

Really? I get off earlier than most...on the roadk by 337...but On fridays and mondays i find my commute to be quicker.

I attributed it to a bad economy...and 4 day work weeks

Right which is why Im not chastising (sp?) you or anyone who is THAT far. Its when someone who lives in Bucktown thinks Oak Lawn is the other side of the world.


Either way...if a 20 minute drive is long for some...so be it.

Conversely, people who live in Oak Lawn really do believe Bucktown is on the other side of the globe.
