2 songs mentioned in this thread that I love unironically are Rain by Madonna and I Wish It Would Rain Down by Phil Collins. :thumleft:

Considering RPB's examples in the OP have nothing thematically to do
with rain itself, I'm not limit my selections in that regard.
But I will keep them 1990's.

Autumn sounds like:
Superchunk
Codeine
Adam Schmitt
Wilco (Being there)
Archers Of Loaf
Beck (Sea Change 2002, so sue me)
Buffalo Tom

Etc Etc Etc.

Not a 90's song, but did we mention "I love a rainy night" by Eddie Rabbit? I can't believe that I like that song, cuz I don't know any of his other stuff, but I can't help but sing along with that one. It's infectuous.

I also didn't realize that "He Gone"!

If Eddie Rabbit is dead, does that mean his wife is pregnant?

Thank you, thank you.

RPB you mentioned Rain King by Counting Crows which I like. Almost all CC songs reference rain. I go Round Here.
Outside 90's, The Who "Love, Reign O'er Me" is my pick.

Alot of Pinks' stuff I think fits listening to on a rainy day as well as Alice in Chains just plain downer moody music.

Also and oldie Kentucky Rain by Elvis!!!!!!!

Some 80s rainy day music the entire Temple of the Dog Disk and most of Soul Asylum.
