The Bears giftwrapped that game for the Falcons. That was the worst 4th qtr i've seen in a while

Cutler is soft tossing tonight. Many passes that should have been drilled he threw softly.
The Bears beat themselves tonight. Special teams sucked.

We outplayed them at the actual "football stuff". We just had penalties and dumb plays.

Forte, 15 carries, 23 yards, and 2 fumbles. What a night.

atlanta didn't play great; but those late penalties were brutal for the bears. i agree, the bears beat themselves.

To have that many false starts, penalties, and defensive confusion AFTER a fucking bye week is inexcusable. Nice job Lovie, you boob.

The takeaway from this game is probably that the Bears are one of the top few teams in the NFC (define few however you want) but that's about all. 1 for 4 in the red zone will kill you, but it's also a sign that your offense was moving pretty well throughout the game. The defense had trouble and got a deep INT in a tip, but at the same time they kept the running game in check pretty well while only giving up 21 points to a team that just lit up the supposedly good 49ers.

In my mind, there are (in no particular order):

Packers
Vikings
Bears
Falcons
Saints
Giants
Eagles

Only five of those teams are going to make the playoffs. I hazard no guesses as to which two will be left out.

Bears Defense was confused and out of position on numerous plays in the second half. But despite that, this was a game the Bears should have won. The penalties & special teams mistakes are inexcusable.

God, I hope the Cutler/Orton shit doesn't (unnecessarily) start up again tomorrow. I just can't think another day of it right now.

This loss hurts like a division loss.

Saints and Vikings are winning the South and North. So we're fighting for the wild card with Atlanta and this gives them the tie breaker over us obviously. But there are 2 wild card spots. We're still in the hunt

Penalties and lack of discipline is a direct reflection of a team's coaching....coming off a bye week especially makes this performance unacceptable.

It's been a long time since NBC had a funny sitcom- probably Frasier. Yes, I know about The Office and 30 Rock.

The season schedule is still less than a third complete and will balance out over time, and I can't think of many teams in the league that have had a tougher first five games than the Bears. But it'll be an uphill climb for sure...

OB is ripping Lovie right now on the Score for the Defensive fiasco tonight. The Bears had 2 weeks to prepare for this game & it is inexcusable for the Defense to look as confused & lost as they did.

Well, gotta do stuff to come down from this loss. Right now I'm watching Jennifer Aniston is some stupid dog movie. It sucks but I'm just watching it cuz they have her in hot outfits so I'm thinking about her in different sex positions. I've got her doing awesome stuff in my mind.

Then I'm gonna watch the rerun of "Curb" at 11pm.

Both our lines played like shit, and Forte looked like he was playing scared.

The defense gave up three scores to one of the better offenses in the league. You convert in the red zone- even field goals each time- you win this game. It's really that simple.

Besides, you're the one that said Roach playing MLB would be no big deal. He missed a tackle on two TDs and was out of position on two (he was both out of position and missed a tackle on one of them). And a lot of the defensive confusion was his responsibility. So who are you crapping, Captain?

This board is the only post game Bears stuff I'll do. I'm not gonna listen to sports radio until Wendesday. I hate it when the Bears lose. Especially B&B. I won't read the papers. I'm not gonna watch football shows on TV until Wenesday either.

Atlanta had only 253 net offensive yards. And the big problem with the defense was???

Good things about the game. Defense played pretty good. Our passing game is pretty good. We had 2 turnovers inside the 15. We really did outplay the Falcons today.

Right. Atlanta has a ton of weapons: they go legitimately two-deep at RB, great TE, very good QB, weapons on the outside. And your defense shut them down pretty well.

Sometimes you play better than the other team and lose. Sometimes you play worse (Pittsburgh) and you win. It almost always evens out.

Roach didnt play his best game, but he wasnt the only one who didnt. The Bears Defense didn't know how to handle the Falcons no huddle offense in the 2nd half.
But you are correct, despite the Defensive problems, the red zone mistakes cost us the game.

Thanks for the heads up. I was hoping this would be a blow out one way or the other so I could watch Curb.

The Falcons didn't play much no huddle offense in the second half. And they only scored seven points after halftime. Try again.

You should give Roddy White more credit than an anonymous weapon on the outside. He is a top 10 WR in the league.

I said that sometime last year and people pounded me for it. I think what I said is that Roddy White is better than Bernard Berrian and there was no end to the gnashing of teeth. I try not to refight old battles.

The Falcons did use no huddle in the second half & when they did the Bears D was confused.
I would like to see the Bears use the no huddle offense on occcasion.
