What do you consider a "monster year". I have no idea how to put a ceiling on what he can do. Somewhere below what Chris Paul is doing, but higher than what Deron Williams is doing.

I'll say 44-38, bounced in the first round again by the Celtics as the 6th seed.

RFDC, that might be about right, but I can easily see the Bulls losing their first 4 in a row. By the way, Vinny Del Negro's seat as head coach is already hot, my friend.

I envision Rose consistently beating his man off the dribble, driving and kicking out. What worries me though, is our lack of catch and shoot players. Salmons is much more effective driving to the hoop and Deng, I hope I'm wrong; but I think he's brittle and will be out again at some point during the season. I think Hinrich and Miller can catch and shoot which should help Rose's assist numbers, but if they're off; Rose's stats will suffer.

I see a lot of lofty predictions here. I'm expecting Rose to improve, but I still don't believe this team is built for D'Antoni-ball, or "chuck lots of shots and don't use your bench." They don't have the personnel. Phoenix did, and they were still an underachiever, so suffice to say I don't believe in the scheme. How are they winning more than 43 games with no defense?

Don't you understand, Curious Hair? All their defensive problems are solved now that Ben Gordon is out of the picture :D

I still give them 43 wins and a first-round playoff loss.

43-39. First round exit in playoffs. Vinny is fired at end of season and a real coach is brought in after the Bulls sign two big free agents next summer.

38-44 Probably still good enough to get an 8 seed and lose to the Lebrons

Furthermore, I think theyll be some MVP talk about Rose. It will be premature and he wont be in the race at the end. But at some point one of ESPN.coms writers/commentators will say it.

Side note: ESPN sucks the worst at NBA coverage. I never remember hearing anything interesting or rare there. In baseball there are some decent reporters. Football too. NBA is the worst by far

I don't know what their record would be, but if they manage to make the playoffs, they'll beat the Brons. Garnett is on the downslope after that injury last year. Not a drastic downslope, but a gradual one. If they stay healthy, look out for the Magic. They could bring a championship back to the East.

Let's go 55 wins and hope the Cav's get the 3 or 4 spot and the Bulls draw 'em. Getting rid of Gordon helps and I see them perhaps making a Bosh-type move at the deadline if Toronto can't convince him to re-sign.

ESPN has them as 11th on their power rankings. Which seems ambitious to me.

I'll go 43-39

read David Thorpe. He is a tremendous basketball writer and one of the most knowledgable guys around. Might have to dig for his stuff, but its buried on ESPN somewhere. Bill Simmons is really good on the NBA too, although obviously more lighthearted than analytical, he still has some pretty accurate and interesting observations.

Their defense should be better, but the problem they will still have is that defense in the NBA always starts at the 1. Untill Rose develops that part of his game they will always be playing catch-up at the other postitions.

50-32.

4th seed.

People ask this question in all seriousness: Who is better, Chris Paul or Derrick Rose?

Active at the trade deadline and drops out of the Leboshmeloade sweepstakes unless it's through a trade for Bosh. They are a legitimate championship contender but not good enough to beat Cleveland.
