He's not in the top 10 right now

He's not in the top 26 either.

Shanahan has had some nice talent at QB. He didnt really coach up Elway. He is known for his running game.

Shanahan has a track record of success in every coaching position that he has held. He knows Offense. It's time the Bears hire someone who knows something about Offense.

Last year's body of work doesn't give you the impression that Forte is a premier back?

This.

There are about 20 RBs in the league who are Matt Forte as a runner. He's a better blocker and receiver than most of them, but still.

Shanahan hasnt done shit post Elway, and he was coach of Cutler for three straight non playoff seasons. His firing was justified, and look at the turnaround that ensued. Holmgren has made a living off of Favre and Reggie handing him a title. He fucked up royally coaching the 2nd one against the Broncos. Hasnt done shit with Seattle, they perenially underachieved, especially in the playoffs. Gruden might be the best choice out of the three, Oakland fell apart 2 years after he left, and Tampa Bay looks like complete shit now. I still dont know if he's the guy since you guys seem to be pining for a creative coach and he certainly doesnt have that history.

Hire Chris Collinsworth as Head Coach.
The Press conferences would be outstanding

Not really. I havent seen a ton of him, but from what I have, his ceiling seems to be Chester Taylor to me.

Lovie Smith will not be fired after this season. I know you guys have been looking for his replacement since 2006 but it isn't going to happen anytime soon. The Bears owe him too much money and if they replaced him it would likely be with another no name coach that many of you would hate. Lovie will be around at least until the end of next season and more likely than not until the end of the 2011 season.

No he wouldn't. He'd be replaced with a head coach everyone loves, and predictions of a 2-3 win improvement would be all over this section until around Week 8. At that point, people would start to turn on him.

The cycles of Chicago football fandom: disillusionment, savior-worship, optimism, disillusionment. Repeat as necessary.

In his first year as coach, Holmgren took the Seahawks to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. He was 3-4 in the playoffs including an appearance in the worst officiated Super Bowl of all time. He mentored Steve Young, Brett Favre and Matt Hasselback. How has Favre fared without him? Holmgren’s been to a Super Bowl, and the great Favre hasn't.

How is it invalid Matt? I know Bears fans love to think they either have the BEST or WORST anything, but believe it or not it is possible you dont have the worst line in the league, or the worst of all time, etc.

It's the worst line I've seen. You have a shitty right tackle. I've seen these teams play head-to-head, and I think the Bears line is clearly worse.

Our whole line sucks. Clifton is adequate but has had four surgeries in the last year and isnt healthy. Maybe Tauscher helps us out. I'd say Omiyale and Barbre are equally horrendous at their jobs. Your Center is clearly the best player on either line though he isnt nearly as good as he was. Both Packers Centers have been hurt/missing time.

Bottom line, the Bears can't run the ball at all. Literally, not at all. I've never seen that before.

If Matt Forte doesn't roll for 150 yards this Sunday, then the Bears running game is even worse than we thought...
