You seem to be the last guy to figure anything out.
The North gimmick is fading rapidly.
The daily dose of stupidity and ignorance is no longer entertaining.

So do you think that North won't work again in Chicago? If you do, you are a fool.

A complete idiot who ruined how many lives at so many far fetched schemes he became the flesh version of a retarded Fred Flintstone, with his bullshit racist, wannabe shock value gimmick nobody even bothered to listen or tune into?

Yeah, id say his days in this city on any kind of airwaves is over, for good.

He was paying out of his very own pocket to try and keep a dead show on the air, and still got canceled. If that shit show was making a smidge of coin, they would have been re-newed.He bullshitted his way into a field he had no bidness being in, he bullshitted a felon who bullshitted him back, then bullshitted CSN who smelt the shit fast enough to get this dumbass off their station.

Not to mention the possibility that the Hernandez trial might have had on this decision, and Nort might actually be just a little more dirty about that man diaper of shit then he let on, or once those bilked out their money might start pointing their wallets in Nort's dorection, which is why they said that public access looking show was too expensive.

Iam enjoying this personally. Nort's the biggest moron ever to grace chicago media, and deserves everything he's gonna get.

The reality of all of this is that if this story happened four years ago, this thread would be eight or nine pages. No one cares. It doesnt really matter to me if he's on or not because I didnt notice anyway and that seems to be the consensus. If he does work again no one will listen. Connie Francis, Frank Sinatra, desert island quiz's and Fritzys KKK night on the town doesnt interest anyone anymore and now the people that do the hiring FINALLY agree.

Where's the fork?

When you say the party is over for North, are you saying that he will never work in TV or Radio again in Chicago? You are delusional if you believe that...

I don't care where he finally finds a job as a fill in or part timer. He's done being a "star" or headliner. He is a has-been and will remain that. You are delusional if you think he will be a prime time star again.
I do hope though that he is finished in Chicago and never pollutes the local airwaves again. He's a bigoted fool that has earned unemployment.

since every other media person likes him and gives him chance after chance, i think he'll be back somewhere. Seems like people are willing to give him chances. I guess buying dinners for big wigs and covering their tabs goes a long way in the corporate chicago media world. I could say when North tells some unknown media suit that he's 'my guy', it probably makes them feel important. At least got to give credit to north that he knows what people to keep happy.

Maybe at Bob O's hot dogs.
Scorehead, you don't seem to figure out that in the entertainment on air business you need listeners and viewers so you can sell advertising.
Doesn't seem anyone wants to hear this guy North anymore.

I'm gonna do my best to mix in a summary with direct quotes, because this was some entertaining stuff!!! Sorry if the quotes don't make sense, I just wrote exactly what Mike said.

    - Stations try to put news about TV on Friday so it would miss the papers, but the show was so huge, so big, Rosenthal picked up the story on Sunday

    - Mike reads the statement from Licorice Lmt and CSN's decision not to renew the show, and highlights that "they remain open to exploring other projects" with Mike.

    - If it wasn't for Corno, show wouldn't be there. Corno came up with the idea and asked Mike about the possibility of doing a TV show together

    - Greg Bowman gets some praise, and Mike says Greg is sick about the show losing. Mike says the hierarchy as a whole is sick about the show leaving

    - "This show is the best morning show on television. I know who is thrilled today... Mike & Mike. Because we were doing a NICE NICE job against them. I also know, that their are some free stations, especially in the key make demographic that are absolutely thrilled... that we we're BEATING."

    - "Would we have liked to have stayed? Yea, but it's not my money. When you lose money and you are used to hitting the bottom line, the days of TV shows being able to go on after 1, 2 years while losing money are over. This show is worth saving."

    - "I'm not the guy who has to handle the bottom Line." At the end of the day, it's strictly due to economics. The reason they did 3 hours was so Mike could bring in enough advertisers to make the show viable.

    - "We brought in SIX FIGURES A MONTH (???)." Thanks Phil Modella (sp?). Phil feels that they could have done better, but without him, "They couldn't have made $1 Million in 8 months."

    - Mike says Phil was stunned that Mike could bring in sales that basically beat Comcast 2-1, but Mike admits he didn't have 5 things to sell.

    - If Phil was just able to sell his show, it "would have been closer and they would have gotten the money they deserve."

    - "It's been the most fun I have ever had." Thanks Rosenthal for writing the article comparing him to Homer Simpson (mumbling and stumbling along and getting the job done for years), and the TV show Gun Smoke.

    - "The future is looking awfully awfully bright."

    - Mike says, "it's interesting to read in Rosenthal's column how all of a sudden the web is huge, now. General Motors is putting all the cars in, and everything else. I remember coming in here and telling them about the web and that it was insignificant. But now the web is HUGE here because of Philadelphia finding out what I know a year and a half ago. Now, was Webio structurally sound? Absolutely. Did a guy go south on us? Absolutely. That's documented and that's never gonna leave me. But I will tell you another thing that is not going to leave me... putting together, along with Dan, Jen and the crew... a quality show wherever we go. I got news for everybody, and for people predicting my demise... EVEN THE CHAT BOARDS YESTERDAY, from what I understand... there is the usual negative side... but there are other people saying 'don't go there.' Been down that road with Mike before... believe me when I tell you this folks, we are very excited about the future."

    - Thanks Corno for allowing him, while contractually bound, the chance to go out and shop.

    - Thanks the whole crew, as they aren't sure if they can bring everyone with them.

    - Mike doesn't want Louie, or Ed Sherman or a Phil asking what their next deal is.

    - " I told them I would have another title sponsor, after the other guy went south, ok. I was getting calls... ' do you have your title sponsor, do you have your title sponsor.' I said, not yet. I know this, if I didn't get Chicago Area Lecit, the papers would have been filled with 'North Fails,' 'North falls on Face,' 'North doesn't get it done.' Which is foreign to me to begin with. Here's what I do know... we got Chicago Area Lecit and know what was written about it? That we came back with 2 title sponsors... and we had a title sponsor that left, and in a recession we came up with another title sponsor. My advice to anybody that sells for a living: If you use the recession as an excuse, you're lazy. Cuz we started the show in a recession, and we are very very healthy, and our brand is healthy... and you know what? You always gotta take care of the moneymen."

    - Endorses Bowman as the next guy to run station when Corno leaves. Deosn't want Corno to leave, but thinks the best of Bowman.

    - Thanks all the sponsors. In the recession, "we we're making nothing but money."

    - They all sat down and asked if they could knock it down to an hour or hour and a half. Mike couldn't do that since he had so much money in the other sponsors. Asks how many shows there are on 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. Plus the encore. They are up for an emmy, "we only entered one" and it's for the entire show, not any individual.

    - End of the day, you can't sell a Royce in a Chevy show room.

Despite my typo of 'know,' I still can't quite figure out what he was trying to say. I think he is admitting he was wrong about the internet initially, but that he then figured it out with Webio. Or something?

Yea, I don't know what he meant.

I think it was those Ed Hardy shirts or whatever a guy in his mid-50's should NOT be wearing!

I guess Mike is not a firm Beleiver in KISS(Keep it simple stupid). He should have just looked for another radio gig, swallow some pride & not be tied in to all this other crap!

Just so everyone is aware--the nominating process for local Emmys is kind of a farce. This doesn't mean the local academy or any unbiased person has singled out his work as worthy of anything. The stations basically nominate their own stuff, pay a fee, and submit a DVD, and THEN the academy votes.

This is from the midwest chapter website:

"Get credit where credit is due! -- Enter your work in the 2008-2009 Chicago/Midwest Emmy Awards -- where excellence is celebrated AND rewarded. Wouldn’t it be great to add those Nominations to your resume and the Emmy statue to your shelf? Review your best work from the last year and remember you must enter to be eligible to win."

I still think bigfan's assessment will end up being true.

I simply cannot understand the extent of the loyalty towards Jiggles.

How many times has a show won an Emmy without lasting a year? Wouldn't this be like Heath Ledger winning a "Lifetime achievement" award?
