I should have known this was coming, and I should have known better. Turned on M&H and a few minutes of Mac/Spiegel this morning and, had I not watched the game yesterday and knew the outcome, I would have guessed the Bears had been blown out. But, in fact, they won 30-6, the biggest margin of victory in any game this weekend! I know it was pretty ugly, and they're flawed as can be, but they're still 4-3, tied for second place in the division, and in decent shape for the wild card.

The Bear stupid, though predictable, still get under my skin. I can't help it. Everyone wants to fire Lovie and Turner after every game, as if a new coach is going to magically make the lines explosive and magically make the receivers game-breakers. Not that I wouldn't want one of the big-name coaches, but doesn't Lovie have the second-best NFC coaching record over the past five years, and isn't he the third-winningest Bears coach of all-time? Tell me again how the personnel is so great but it's all about the coaching

One caller even said he'd been going to Bears games for 37 years, and this was the worst game he'd ever been to. And another caller claimed the only reason Lovie hasn't been fired yet is because he's black, and the Bears were afraid to let him go. WTF? My God, I know it was ugly, but people treat this team like it's the Dick Jaruon/Cade McNown squad.

I vowed not to listen to the Score last week after the Bengals debacle, but I didn't expect it to be even worse after a blowout victory, no matter how flawed. Maybe I should have known better. Time to finally PTFB now that I've found true radio hell.

This apparantly is going to be Mac's m.o. the day after Bears games. And some of these idiot callers are straight out of central casting. Unbelievable.

Meatballs were in full panic mode yesterday at Soldier Field. Team wins by 24 points at home and gets booed.

The We Should Have Never Traded Kyle crowd was in full effect.

I am a Bears fan, and I hate most Bears fans.

But to be fair...most NFL cities are this way.
Jets booed their overachieving team a couple weeks ago.

Meatheads one week ago: I don't think we can even beat Cleveland! They'll definitely not cover the spread.

Meatheads this week: Wins by 24 points are unacceptable!

Crazy isn't it.

I had a friend of mine who is a big Vikings fan giving me crap for how bad the Bears looked yesterday and I reminded him that the Bears beat the Browns by 10 more points than the Vikings.

So you guys think the offense is good? No big issues?

Minnesota is going to kill them. I'm not looking forward to it.

the Lines are awful...that's not coaching, that just being older and fatter and slower.
Offenses and Defenses work when the line play is AVERAGE....

Jared Allen is going to kill Orlando Pace and Cutler.

The OL is the biggest issue for me. They have got to play better or Cutler is going to get injured and we can forget the rest of the year.

Forte looked better running the ball yesterday in spite of bad line play. I was happy about that.

Maybe, but who knows in the NFL? Things change so quickly from week to week. Look at the Eagles. They get completely embarrassed by the Raiders a couple weeks ago and now everyone thinks they are good again.

I do not think it is a given that the Bears get killed by Minnesota. Who knows what will be going on with each team come those 2 weeks.

If it is a player issue then Jerry Angelo should be fired.
If it is a coaching issue then Ron Turner and/or Lovie Smith should be fired.

This has nothing to do with the last game but what we have seen for years.

This wasn't my original thought but I heard someone say look at what the Eagles have done. They had a major hole at WR a few years ago and now they have Jackson and Maclin who will be a great 1/2 WR core.

I don't really see how anyone can argue that one of my first two sentences shouldn't happen at the end of the year unless they make the playoffs.

Maybe an offensive line and quality receivers will just show up in Lake Forest in the next few days.
The Bears beat the Cleveland Browns.....Big Fucking Deal.

yep Arizona can turn out lookin like the Cincy game. Warner is capable of throwing 4 TD's and we know what Bolden and Fitz are gonna do. If the Bears can pressure Warner then it should be a good game for the Bears. No penetration = Warner carving them up

The offense is just not lookin good at all tho. Are these teams defenses this good or is the play calling that bad? the O line has to be one of the top 5 worst in the league too no?

This was the worst "blow out win" in the history of the Bears. They're not a great team but I still want them to get the Wild Card just to do it. They have a chance.

To me, it's all about perspective: they're flawed as hell, and not exactly a Super Bowl contender, but they're a 4-3 team with a lot of room for improvement and plenty of games left in case they decide to put it together. Nothing more, nothing less. If they perform well over the last half of the season, they'll probably end up a wild card. If not, then we'll see what next year brings.

And as far as coaching changes/GM changes, we should have a much clearer picture where things stand at the end of the season, for better or worse.

Its both. Turner sucked, Lovie has has his issues, and Angelo refuses to adress the Oline.

I thought this thread was going to about a radio show hosted by Zack Zaidman, Larry, and Mike North. All other radio is heaven compared to this.

A small part of me was hoping that this win would put the team into perspective for others. I was wrong. I'm going to put this in the simplest possible terms: you are complaining that this team is only three and a half touchdowns better than another NFL team. Think about that. Let that set in. Keep thinking. Think some more. OK, now let me put this into perspective: the NFL is the most parity-filled organization in professional sports, and while that's less true than in years past, it is still largely true. This was a game that everyone expected to win, and that the Bears quite easily won by dominating every phase of the game (how many passing yards did the Browns have in the first half? I think it was 11 if memory serves).

You are not a fan of the team that just got manhandled and lost by 24 to a team that had trouble punching in TDs in the red zone and had to settle for field goals. You are fans of a team with obvious but potentially reconcilable problems (O-line play, DEs, maybe running back). You are not the disaster; they are.

And there are disasters just like that all over America every Sunday; places like Detroit, and Tampa, and Oakland, and Kansas City. Places like St. Louis, and Washington, and yes, even Cleveland, that self-same Cleveland that was beaten by twenty-four points yesterday.

That is not the Chicago Bears, even absent a capable offensive line, and even absent probably their best player on defense (or -- at the very minimum -- one of the top three). Instead, the Bears are a team capable of beating those teams by ungodly amounts even when they don't play perfectly. They are a team capable of beating very good teams (Pittsburgh beat Minnesota, yes?), and capable of losing to good and average teams. Such is life in the NFL, where Philadelphia can lose to Oakland and a previously 16-0 New England can go out the next year and lose to the previously 1-15 Miami Dolphins. The Bears have identifiable, serious problems -- problems that will definitely prevent a championship this year and perhaps cause the team to miss the playoffs. But my god, for all the hyperbole and gnashing of teeth, you'd think that Chicago inhabited some unique universe of football suck. Isn't it abundantly clear, after watching the game yesterday, that they don't?

You're right. But the "Horrible" teams in the NFL have never been this bad. I'm talking the bottom 6 teams.

Rams, Lions, Raiders, Bucs, Chiefs and Browns are really, really bad. Titans are 1-6 but they are much better than all of these teams.

I'm very happy the Bears have 2 of these teams left to play. Rams and Lions. Woo hoo!!!!

Beardown, need I remind you of the 0-26 record of the Bucs well into their second season?

Not bad. I would like to add that this show would have to be executive produced by Jen Patterson.

Do you think the Bears performance yesterday was good? The Browns are the worst team in the NFL.The Bears level of play yesterday would beat the Browns, Rams & Lions, & would lose to every other team. The reason the Bears won is because the Browns couldn't hang on to the Football.
The Browns had 4 turnovers, & the Bears had one takeaway.
Review the remaining Bears schedule & you will be hard pressed to find 3 more wins.

Cardinals
at San Fran
Eagles
at Vikings
Rams
Packers
at Ravens
Vikings
At Lions

This current Bears organization is clearly regressing.

So Tampa, Oakland, and Kansas City would all beat the Bears?
