This comment and Rick's overall sentiments are how I would think a logical Bears fan would think. Yeah the line sucks. The WR's are inexperienced(although from what I have seen I think Hester is pretty good and the rest of the corps get too much blame assigned them). The defense isn't that good and the running game isnt that good. Basically your lines suck. So do both of the lines for Green Bay. Probably worse than the Bears. Cutler isnt playing at a Pro Bowl level. You got a QB who is supposed to overcome shit like this. He isnt. Rodgers is. Same record, but Cutler is clearly playing significantly worse than him and all Bears fans wanna do is make excuses for him. The excuses should end now because Rex and Kyle didnt get the benefit of the same excuses from Bears fans. Simply put, Cutler is the same QB he was in Denver and Bears fans wanna believe he is the reincarnation of a young Brady or Manning when really he played like the 2000-2006 Brett Favre although he has 1996 Brett Favre talent. I dont understand why more of you arent upset with the way he's played, surrounding conditions be damned.

I know you love telling Bears fans how to feel, so I'm gonna go ahead and try flipping the tables for a second.

You as a Packer fan, should be down right embarrassed that they have been swept by Brett Favre. He is making a mockery of the entire Packers organization. It's actually really really funny. The fact that he swept the packers, and keeps talking about how this is the best team he has been on is downright funny.

It will be even funnier when after he retires you and all the rest of the Packer fans will welcome him back like nothing happened. Hilarious.

Honestly though, I didn't think anyone could stick it to Ted Thompson harder than his boyfriend, but Brett Favre sure is doing that.

FF, your thoughts on Cutler/Rodgers are well-documented and, at this point, beyond tired. Might I suggest you stay out of Bears business until you have an original thought?

yeah he does. Brady has better weapons then both. By your implied logic weapons equals qb skills/talent/stats

Weapons can certainly help skills, esepcially if the QB is lackluster.
Weapons do not help talent.
Weapons most certainly help stats.

yeah except this is an original thought. Really only me, rick, and nas and rpb on some level, have pointed out that cutler is not playing to the level he's capable of and bears fans should expect better. As for the rest of your post i'll post about the bears if and when i feel like it and i really dont give a fuck if that upsets not

nas and frank you're living in a world of denial if you think the talent is so much better on the packers end that it means 30 ratings points stat wise. I guess you also feel rodgers has better protection/wr's than manning, brees, and brady too. Cutler is a shitty situation but it's no excuse for him to put up jason campbell numbers

Ratings or not, both QBs have led their teams to the exact same record at this point in the season, isn't that the big picture here regardless of their stats.

You're opening yourself for the Orton argument here, just to warn you.

I think if you asked him QB to QB who he would want to start a team, he'd say Cutler.

True, but Orton really shouldn't be in this conversation. I mean I think most intelligent posters around here realize that both Rodgers and Cutler are better than Orton regardless of the fact he has a better record.

If it were between Orton or Cutler to start a team? Hell yeah I would take Cutler every time.

Rodgers or Orton? Rodgers every time.

Rodgers or Cutler, it would be a toss up to me. IMO if you go by raw talent it is Cutler. If you go by stats it is Rodgers.

exactly. The qb is important but it's not everything. You're right though that they have the same record and will likely finish with similar records. My point was mainly backing up rick's that cutler is not playing well and if i was a bears fan i would be upset by the fact that despite his line he has still played well below the level he's capable of.

I agree he is not playing as well as I would like him to or as well as I think he is really capable of. But I am more upset and worried about the OL. I think Cutler is going to be fine. But it is imperative that they address the OL asap. 6 months ago I would have said WR was the #1 priority to address, but that is not the case any longer. It has to be the OL.

Sure Cutler has made some bad passes/plays. What QB hasn't this year? Every one of them except Peyton Manning has a loss. (Drew Brees, TBD.) There is room for improvement, no question. Given the lack of running game, and the horrendous Oline play, I can't expect much better from Cutler. I'm relatively happy with the fact that he hasn't been knocked out of a game yet.

The Bears have no running game, some of the worst playcalling in the league, one of the worst Olines in the league, some of the most inexperienced WRs in the league, and a former #1 pick of a tight end who drops 1 out of every 2 or 3 passes and can't block for shit. Given all that, and the Bears still have a winning record.
"Aaron Rodgers is doing better! lolz" who gives a shit.

It's awesome that we finally got a pro bowl franchise QB and we can enjoy the fact that he isn't injured yet!

For a bunch of people who were so giddy over this franchise changing player you have pretty low expectations.

Maybe my definition of franchise QB is different than yours though.

At least we have draft picks to improve the team!

if i can put on my nas shoes for a second, i'm not suprised you dont get my point still. If i wanted this to be a rodgers vs cutler debate i would have labeled it as such and put it in the nfl section, i've never been six to make my point bluntly here, and the evidence is so one sided that's not even a debate worth having. My point is cutler hasn't met expectations at all even given the detriments of his line.

i didn't mention brady. i'm talking about cutler versus rodgers.

cutler has had to throw off his back foot a lot; he has made some incredible throws doing it. he doesn't have guys he can have full confidence in to catch the ball.

jennings and driver are solid WR's, and proven. rodgers is a good young QB. the packers have other problems, and so do the bears. but one problem the bears have that the packers don't is talent at the WR position.

My expectations are to win a Super Bowl. Last I checked, we were 8 weeks into this season and very rarely can you get to a Super Bowl with only 8 weeks.

Lets revisit this thread 5 years from now and see what the Cutler vs. Rogers debate looks like.

Rodgers has better talent. The WRs are awesome on GB. That DOES make a hubge difference. See: McNabbs career. But with that decided advantage included, Rodgers is still playing better. Cutler isnt terrible. Hes playing ok. I expected more. I expect NOT to lose like the Cincinatti game or struggle against the fuckn browns. Im still very happy the Bears have Cutler and think hell improve. But so far...barely decent.
