Since I can't do a poll.Fire or Passion or Stoic. Is Lovie a good coach or a bad coach?

Probably somewhere in between, but leaning more towards bad. This team hasn't been ready to play the last 4 games. Even last weeks game against the horrible Browns was troubling.

He continues the horrible tradition of the late Ditka years, Wanny, and Jauron.

Worse...the players are not that good at football. Brigg and Cutler are good - all the others, just blah.

I think he's good, in that even with the crap talent on this team right now, they'll still finish within two games of .500

Although if they don't then I'll lean more towards average than bad. I think Lovie makes good coaching decisions about when to and not to punt (most coaches punt too much), and he displays good clock management, and the players seem to buy his leadership style. I think generally that's a recipe for success.

All in all, I think that coaches could be rated like this (taking into account everything that goes into coaching, from leadership style to football knowledge and intangibles).

Great = +2 wins every year, regardless of whether you're in the regular- or post-season (Belichick right now)
Good = +1 wins (Lovie, I think (Pittsburgh this year?)... And guys like Andy Ried, Jack Del Rio)
Average = +-0 (Most other coaches)
Bad = more than 1 loss added per year (Jauron, Wade Philips).

That said, scouting players and talent is still the most important thing, but I think coaches can get you a win or two if you're lucky, and they're good enough.

I have been a Lovie supporter. I'm hoping the Bears rebound. I think Jerrry Angelo has to take most of the responsibility. Lovie has done a pretty good job up until now with some pretty mediocre teams. If the Bears continue on this freefall,I guess it's time to begin the search.
