i can't believe i just discovered this thread. this has been a lot of fun to read. i think yankee fans are going to share something with my fellow cub fans this year...false hope. but when the yankees don't make the playoffs for the first time in a long one, i won't feel sorry for the fanbase. in fact i will just laugh and laugh and laugh...because that's all i can do as a cubs fan. there's no crying in baseball.

I love the thoroughness Stoneroses.
I guess I shouldn't expect anything less than a legally binding contract from an attorney
As such, this post constitutes my acceptance of the above terms.

I shall find the Pavano chapter of the Yankee history to be an enjoyable one.

Play Ball !!!

Hey Stoneroses,
Are you real or are you one of these, as Doug expressed it, asshats & fucktards?
After today I feel like Raoul Duke.

You wanna hurt me? Go right ahead if it makes you feel any better. I'm an easy target. Yeah, you're right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you... but I don't like to hurt people's feelings. Well, you think what you want about me; I'm not changing. I like... I like me. My wife likes me. My customers like me. 'Cause I'm the real article. What you see is what you get.

I see stoneroses as more of a fucktard than an asshat.

 Not the greatest movie of all time, but perhaps my favorite movie of all time. That was right after one of the more hilarious catharsis outbursts I can think of, too.

Ok, *now* you'll hear crickets chirping

Bump

1. Chopin
2. Schubert
3. Dvorák
4. Grieg
5. Mendelssohn

Wow that was tough, had to really think about this one. I'm sold on my top 3 for life, but Grieg today could be Mozart tomorrow, tough exercise. I wish I could put Dvorák higher, but I can't look past Schubert's versatility. I wish Chopin did more outside the piano, but the one thing he did very well was something so great that he has to be #1 IMO.

Claude Debussy's long been a favorite of mine. I'm a sucker for Shostakovich too. He brought Romanticism back.

I've been listening to a lot of Philip Glass lately. A few years back in Montana, we watched 'Koyaanisqatsi' for history class, and the musical score did a lot more for me than the actual film did. Pearl Jam's entrace music this time round was "Metamorphosis 2", which was awesome. I couldn't believe they had picked such a moving piece to come out to-- it was a very chilling entrance. House lights were on for about the first minute of the piece, then they went out, and rocked the house for 2 hours.

As sad as it is, the "Adaigo for Strings" has always been a favorite of mine.
