Can you say trainwreck?? He can't talk about sports let along politics. This should be good. I wonder if Rodeo will be listening in order to give us updates??

Maybe a tryout for a weekend gig when Governor Hairdo gets put in the klink? Or are they going to drop Mancow?

I think this can be called a tryout! Whether or not it is a tryout for WLS is another story, but I can promise these shows will be placed on a CD and anyone in the business should be able to get a hold of one that has his "best of 3 days" parts.
This does prove that there are still plenty of industry asswipes who think Mike North is a very big name in the business.
Now just offer him $65,000 for a show and see what he says to you.

He'll probably say yes.

The comments were at the top of the page when I posted it on Monday. The site is difficult to read in a smooth flow.

I also thought North was blabbering about The MONSTERS "BRAND" and then he goes and does 3 days without his BRAND?

He doesn't give a fuck about anybody but Mike North.

This town has a pretty poor track record recently with respect to "brands".

Mike North doesn't know how to listen or let a guest finish a sentence before he's pouncing on them like a cougar on an helpless gazelle...painful...it seems like he's going deaf or he must feel the need to scream at all times in order to control the conversation and intimidate people..if it weren't for this, he might come off as tolerable, but that is not the case here....Jesus

I tuned in for ten minutes. Then I went out to the shed and put my nuts in the vice and tightened it! The vice brought me less pain.

For the life of me I'm still trying to figure out what was the reason behind giving him three days in the chair next to Roe. I realize that Roe likes him-perhaps that's the reason-but my guess is that most of Roe's audience doesn't. I would love to see what Roe's ratings for the three days were. Talk about the barrel going over Niagra Falls.

This wasn't a train wreck....it was a bombing. He brought nothing to the show but a lower I.Q. I would have loved to have had a camera on Amy Jacobson to see how many times she rolled her eyes or shook her head after he opened his mouth.

I give North credit because he does hustle himself out there. What I can't figure out is why so many people in the local industry gravitate toward him and give him air time. It's obvious he can schmooz the right people, and evidently they don't seem to have common sense. I've written about it numerous times that the problem in the industry is an inability to take on new talent. There are retreads everywhere, yet no one is willing to take a chance. One could say that the Score did with North, and that maybe true. But they made sure to pair him with someone who was broadcast capable to keep things going. Even a blind man can see how egomaniacal North became, and yet the lemmings still follow. He started out successfully, but became an industry embarassment. It took the Score long enough to cut the chord and I'm sure they are better off for it. I question those at Comcast and their personel decisions when they think North is worth the time of day. I believe they saw dollar signs and that didn't seem to pan out.

I've read a lot about how he will land on his feet and he's been talking to some places (that's subject to debate) about potential gigs. In my opinion, anyone who brings him aboard has no clue about broadcasting and quality programming.

Chip, The truth is that Roe's show was more entertaining & engaging than usual this week. Roe's ratings for Monday Tuesday & Wednesday of this week will be higher than usual.

That isn't what people at the station told me. they said they got a lot of calls and emails complaining about north being on. One hour was more than enough.

um, so did nobody listen to this, then?

I was hoping for an RodeoVann-esque self-masochistic recap.

Controversial Radio guys get a lot of complaints. Stern, Dahl, Mancow, Rush, etc...

north isn't controversial, he's just plain stupid, loud and obnoxious. Washed up has-been, with no real talent or skill.

Then you need a camera on Roe to measure the dumb thoughts of Amy Jacobson.

That is very true as well. I was not a supporter of her being added to the show and to this day I still don't understand the hiring.

I heard North and Roe talking about Amy's friend in the porn industry and I kept thinking to myself that she's got to be emabarassed that she even talks about it, especially with that boob (pun intended)
