Have your pencil & scorecard ready, as FOX Sports and ESPN/ABC Sports have announced their announcers for the upcoming Bowl Championship Series from New Year's Day 2010 through January 7th. You will notice that FOX will be utilizing 3 of its current NFL crews to call its 3 BCS bowl games, while ESPN/ABC will use only 1 team for the Rose Bowl Game on January 1st and the BCS Championship Game January 7th in Pasadena, CA. These are your announcers, according to awfulannouncing.com:

January 1st
Rose Bowl Game: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit & Lisa Salters, ESPN/ABC
Allstate Sugar Bowl: Thom Brennaman & Brian Billick, FOX
January 4th
Tostitos Fiesta Bowl: Sam Rosen & Tim Ryan, FOX
January 5th
FedEx Orange Bowl: Dick Stockton & Charles Davis, FOX
January 7th
BCS Championship Game: Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit & Lisa Salters, ESPN/ABC

I really hope Bernstein isn't on vacation that week.

Keep in mind this is FOX Sports' last year as the network of the Bowl Championship Series, with the exception of the Rose Bowl and the BCS Title Game, which coincidentially takes place at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, CA. Come 2011, while ABC Sports (ESPN on ABC) will continue to broadcast the Rose Bowl, ESPN will carry the rest of the games that make up the much-maligned BCS. Chances are, the announcers you see & hear on ESPN/ABC's College Football on Saturday afternoons will be commissioned to work the BCS games come 2011 and beyond. That probably means you'll see & hear the likes of Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Erin Andrews on one of the bowls, Mike Patrick, Craig James & Heather Cox on another BCS game, Sean McDonough, Matt Millen & Holly Rowe on another game, and of course, Brent Musburger, Kirk Herbstreit & Lisa Salters. I also wouldn't be shocked if another veteran golden voice in Ron Franklin & Ed Cunningham also get work once the BCS officially signs on next year at ESPN & ABC.
