This has epic fail written all over it.

Is the bookie priest gonna give advice on how to manage your money? Now, you will see the ratings of Norts failure.

I give it two weeks before they pull the plug.

CBS 2 New Show 'Monsters And Money In The Morning'
Jiggetts, North, Savage, Hegedus To Anchor Sports, Business Show From 5 a.m.-7a.m.
CHICAGO (CBS) ―

1 of 1
CBS 2 Chicago announced today that it will launch Monsters and Money in the Morning, an innovative new local weekday 5- 7 a.m. show, beginning February 1, 2010. The morning talk show will feature an ensemble of veteran Chicago broadcasters and a mix of candid discussion of local sports topics, regional business issues and personal money management, as well as news headlines, weather and traffic.

Monsters and Money in the Morning will originate from CBS 2's studios and be hosted by an ensemble of veteran Chicago broadcasters, including sportscasters Mike North and Dan Jiggetts – widely recognized by local fans as "The Monsters," along with Chicago Sun-Times money expert and author Terry Savage and former CNBC business reporter Mike Hegedus. Also contributing to the program will be CBS 2 reporter Susan Carlson, who will provide news headlines and traffic updates, and station meteorologist Mary Kay Kleist.

Monsters and Money in the Morning will also feature in-studio interviews with guests from the local sports and business communities, including contributors from CBS RADIO station WBBM News Radio 780.

"It's time for something new and smart that will differentiate CBS 2 from its competitors," said CBS 2 President & General Manager Bruno Cohen. "We are targeting an underserved television audience – Chicagoans who are passionate about sports and want to stay on top of local business news and personal finance – while at the same time continuing to provide the news headlines, weather and traffic information that people want before leaving home in the morning."

"This is a Monster Team we've put together," said CBS2 Vice-President & News Director Jeff Kiernan. "Mike North and Dan Jiggetts are Chicago's best known sports talk duo. Their rapport was developed during their years on the air on The Score radio station and their TV skills were developed during the last year on Comcast SportsNet Chicago. Terry Savage has more than 20 years of experience as a reporter and commentator on the economy and personal finance. She is known, liked and respected by everyone in the industry. Mike Hegedus is a dynamic television journalist who spent the last 10 years of his career with CNBC, traveling the US and the world profiling successful businesses and the people who made them work. We can't wait to put the four of them together on television for Chicago."

Kiernan added that the on-air team for the CBS 2 Morning News will be reassigned as of February 1.

CBS 2 is part of CBS Television Stations, a division of CBS Corporation.

Questions
are nort's goodfella buddies getting him all these gigs/sponsors(lecet, city of rosemont)?
has the CBS exec. who greenlighted this new piece of shit seen the soon to be off the air piece of shit show?
a new low for channel 2, I guess they can go lower and finish behind channel 26 the U or channel 11, WTTW.
what no gig for jen jen the dumb blonde who can't read without stuttering engine?
will bebe be a executive producer?
will they bring all the crap from the comcast desk? my guess is yes, cause north is a lazy sob and won't spend the time to try and improve
let's start another "when will the show go off the air contest"
I say CBS will go 8 months, then pull the plug

Looks like Jen's on air days are over. Certainly looks like the sports will not be the center of this show and North won't be having control. Poor little Jen, did North dump her to get this job? :)

With this post, I'm through bashing Mike North. What's the point?

If these goddam, cocksucking, shit-for-brains Chicago media executives still think this lowlife piece of crap has ANYTHING to offer the citizenry of this fair city after all the fucking garbage he's put out the last few years, not to even mention the ethnic slurs and the borderline association with criminals, then I am so far removed from understanding what constitutes intelligent TV and radio in this town that I'm not worthy of even expressing one more point about this blithering idiot. Apparently, I just don't get it and I can admit that. I've lost. Congratulations, Mike, on finding another gullible asshole to give you yet another gig.

It's absolutely shameful that people responsible for "entertainment" in Chicago keep turning to this totally ignorant, ill-spoken moron to provide program content. We must be awfully devoid of broadcast talent around here for this cretin to keep getting hired. This uneducated boob, windbag, and serial failure who portrays himself as the "quintessential Chicagoan" is an insult to any of us who grew up here and have lived here all our lives.

And Jeff Kiernan at Channel 2, whoever the fuck you are, kiss my fucking ass. I hope your career goes down in flames because of this and you're scrounging for food in trash cans in a few months.

Yeah. I'm wrong too. I said he'd never find another sucker. Like I said about his Comcast show, no way this lasts a year. I say it will only go 6 months. Nobody will watch just like nobody watched the Comcast show.

I did find it interesting that Pappy couldn't get Jen Jen in on this. The article didn't say she was included. At least people in the business finally realized she doesn't have talent. Plus the CBS 2 women would be so pissed if she got on the air over them. I wonder if Jen Jen still gets to go to the studio as Pappy's assistant and he pays her out of his pocket.

So now we have to get up even earlier to watch a show with them in it? That being said, I'm sure I'll DVR it. You can't help but watch a train/car wreck.

Look at the bright side, this trainwreck is only a 2 hour show.

I'm betting North is putting up money to be on the air.

Rock said it best on Facebook, this isnt monster and money in the morning, this is "filler in the morning. Come on, 5am-7am, plus having to share the time with a terry savage and some other misfits, this is worse then the wildfire gig. Honestly, if I was in pappy shoes on this, i would have turned it down.

I suspect the show will be less then a hour old before terry savage asks someone if North is retarded, this indeed will fail faster then his last 3 "ventures". I am also willing to bet that more money is coming out of pappys pocket on this then cbs.

You are correct, sir. I have admitted defeat. Mike North is a god and a genius to keep pulling this off. However, that still doesn't stop me from hoping Jeff Kiernan gets his intestines extracted through his belly button with red-hot pincers for this move.

Mike North, you are the greatest. Few people in this world have gotten more reward for less talent than you. I worship you. Give Jen a little sumthin' for me tonight, won't ya, buddy? Yeah, there ya go, thanks, I knew ya would!

No. This is CBS 2. It's not like the Comcast deal where he was putting up the money. I'm sure Pappy is getting a straight salary. So is Jiggs. It's not huge money. But they're part of a 4 man crew. CBS 2 has production people. They're trying to do a real show unlike the stupid Comcast show with girls handing Pappy paper and countless weird sponsors. They have a sales team at CBS 2. They don't need Pappy to bring little Jen Jen along. They won't allow it. They didn't allow it. And Pappy doesn't want to pay her out of his pocket. He gave her a shot. She just doesn't have talent. There are many women on TV that you can tell should be on TV. She's not one of them.

Wasn't she supposed to be doing some football show on Sunday mornings on CSN? If so, is it still on the air/anyone see it? I can only imagine the trainwreck it is.

You make it sound like just because it's CBS 2 , they have actual rigid standards and principles they must adhere to. But, you see, they hired MIKE NORTH, thereby recognizing the true out-of-the-box broadcasting genius that he is. I would expect them to give him free rein and to bring in whatever people he wants. I have now recognized this god among men for what he is--I would hope the rest of you will soon follow me. Mike is a genius; the radio/TV execs in this town are the idiots. Furthermore, if CBS 2 had any guts, a certain BeBe North would soon be the COO of that whole outfit. Man, if anyone has success written all over her in a media COO role, it's BeBe North!

True. Somebody ask Jen on her Facebook if she's a part of it. I'll bet she'll say something like "Pappy is working on making me a part of the show. Stay tuned." That's probably what Pappy told her to give her hope even though CBS 2 told him "No way".

"Monsters and Money in the Morning?!?"

Didi you ever read about a local morning radio show in a smaller market and think to yourself, "What kind of an idiot listens to a show called 'Sticky and The Wombat?'"

I abhor puns, but "Monsters of the Midday" was a completely sevicable play on "Monsters of the Midway." Shift Change, same market/concept, "Monsters in the Morning," OK, I'll go along with that. I'll even go as far as carrying the brand to CSN and Webio. But plucking this albatross from the relatively small universe of a locally-produced cable sports show to a network affiliate, and dragging that outdated and no-longer-meaningful "Monsters" tag along is Podunk.
