Yeah, that's disappointing. One thing about the Warriors is they certainly don't have a problem putting points up. Problem is, that's all they do. Nellie teams have never been interested in playing defense.

well my favorite basketball writer david thorpe is now comparing jennings to isiah. We'll see. I'm not sure he sees the floor like isiah

See, I told you...great minds think alike.

He doesn't have the court vision like Isiah (yet) and he is prone to turning the ball over but I think this is a case of a guy needing to learn how to harness his abilities and allow them to work within a system. I think he has the right coach for that. If he just learns how to run a play, he'll be alright. The rest of his game are elements you just can't teach. You either have em or you don't and he has em.

i see paul as more the isiah type. Jennings is obviously very good, but i just dont see him as the same type of pg. I see some tiny in his game and a more polished version of young marbury

Young Marbury is a nice comparison. I agree with Bagels that Jennings is a better shooter but damn, Marbury was a BEAST when he came into the league.

I'd like to see how Michael Redd affects his game.

Bagels, you are preaching to the choir. I don't know if this team will ever get it all together. If they do they have a chance to be a pretty good team. There depth when healthy is better than it has been in a while.

Well I grew up just over the bridge from Memphis and saw Perry play his whole college career, and I don't think he can hold Jennings jock strap and I was a HUGE Memphis State fan back in the day.

it's sad if iverson really retires like this. He's one of my favorite players ever and along with kidd, duncan, and kobe my favorite players post jordan to watch play.

Disappointed Monta fouled out with a good 6-7 minutes left in the Pacers game last night after dropping 45, he easily would have made it past 50

continuing the Monta thought, can NBA ref's PLEASE start calling traveling again? It's getting ridiculous.

NBA.com wrote:
The correct call: The NBA has not changed the traveling rule.

Stu Jackson, the league's executive vice president of basketball operations, said recent media reports that the rule had been changed to allow an extra step after the dribble were not true.

"We have not changed the traveling rule, nor how we enforce the rule," Jackson said Friday during the league's annual preseason conference call. "What we did change was some antiquated language in our existing rule as it related to steps."

The section of the NBA rulebook dealing with traveling used to allow players to "use a two-count rhythm in coming to a stop." It was reworded this season to say players "may take two steps in coming to a stop, passing or shooting the ball."

Word on the street is Ewing wants the Nets gig. I think they could do worse than to give him a tryout. He's been an assisstant for awhile, right?

I had to do a double take when I saw that score.

Now, I'm not sure if this is a bandwagon i'm jumping on or not...but i watched a good portion of the Grizzlies- Celtics game last night. Shocking information:

a) the grizzlies are EXCITING
b) the grizzlies are COMPETITIVE

yes, i know- they have Zack Randolph. the black hole. But Rudy Gay is playing out of his mind. OJ Mayo is stepping up. Conley is playing better....Gasol is unheralded. They are playing solid team defense. Hell, even Thabeet is blocking some shots and contributing.

In their last 10 games the only real bad losses they have were @Clippers (bad) and @Utah (understandable). I'll give them a pass on the OKC game as losing to OKC is no longer embarrassing. But wins over Cavs, Mavs, @Blazers and crushing Miami in Miami. And last night, taking Boston to the wire- it took a Ray Allen 3 on the C's final possession with the shot clock at 1 for them to win it. yes a loss is a loss but the point is they are in these games until the end for the most part- competitive.

I feel I'm ready to predict that they will make the playoffs. They're obviously better than the Kings and Clips. I think they are better than OKC. New Orleans is the only team out of the top 8 that I would see making the playoffs...probably take away Houston. I think they can do it. Just watch.

That Allen 3 was sick. He was about 3-5 feet behind the line and had to hit a fadeaway and he swished it. The Grizzlies did everything they could against him defensively and just got beat.
