The Tribune traded Morrisey for Mac and a conditional pick.

The Trib traded an aging veteran with an expiring contract to the Sun Times in exchange for a high-profile free agent bust.

Maybe they'll finally rehire Lincicome and I'll buy their paper again.

If the Sun Times gave up multiple picks, I hope they got Jay Cutler in the deal!

I guess the Sun Times outbid Streetwise for Morrissey.

Morrissey is the dumb ass who said the Sox were a good team and White Flagged the season when they were under .500 in September....

McNeil's first column was superior to ANYTHING Morrissey has written in at least a year.

Do people actually read columnists anymore? I'll pick up a paper on occasion but I never read the opinion pieces on sports. If anything I get information, no opinions from the papers. I don't care what a 50 year old crusty writer thinks of Tiger Woods, Jay Cutler, etc.

I get the Trib and NEVER read the columnists (except Verdi on Sundays). I read the beat writers and stats pages (I'm a stat junkie). Sometimes I read the Jock Sniffer for a laugh.

+1 If memory serves Lincicome wanted to be in Denver. Don't know if this free agent can be financially persuaded to come back.

I believe he and Skip Clueless were battling for the prime space and both had issues with the editor at the time. As for the financial end of it, Bernie went to the now defunct Rocky Mountain News...don't know where he is currently but I'm guessing the Trib would be a step up. I'd love it but am not holding my breath either.
