Why do you have to make so many picks?

His contest requires a minimum of 100 picks and for some reason I stopped making picks for about 2.5 months.

My original concern was that people would try to steal it with a couple of huge bets, and then a few very small ones and quit right as they reached the limit. Since it was going to be college + NFL through the regular season and postseason, and ANY bets, I figured 100 wouldn't be that bad.

If someone gets reasonably close to 100 (defined by me) and I don't get the impression that they were trying to game the system, I'll probably count it. My whole goal was to add in the money management aspect while allowing a wider range of bets. If someone were to get 75 and win, I might consider dual prizes. It depends on the circumstances.

Also, I know some guys (Newper, Chus, Coast) will fly past 100. If you guys have a problem with someone winning with, say, 75 games that wasn't engaging in funny business, would you have a problem with that person being the winner? If so, feel free to speak up, because those were the stated rules, and I know I'm amending them a bit in a way that might work against you.

Don't overthink it. I was able to make 40 picks in one day. 100 picks isn't that hard.

I'll get to 100 picks no problem. It will be kind of fun to pick every bowl game. It will give me a rooting interest besides hating the MAC teams.

No... you could easily do 100 bets in a day if you wanted... it would be better if they were legitimate bets with reasoning behind it, not just taking an O/U, a spread, and a straight up for every NFL game that day. (Not to mention the half spreads, the half totals, etc.) I don't know how you could really legislate against it.

Anyway, for this week, here are my college picks:
$55 Cal -6.5 -110 to win $50.00 Loss -$55
$50 Pitt +2 -105 to win $47.62 Win +$47.62
$45 GATech +1 -113 to win $39.82 Win +$39.82
$40 USC -7 -101 to win $39.60 Loss -$40
$30 Florida-5.5 -107 to win $28.04 Loss -$30

College total this week 2-3 -$37.56

Well, I don't feel like having a losing week, so I am going to throw in these NFL bets...
$60 Cinci -13 -108 to win $55.56 Loss -$60
$44 Tampa +5 -110 to win $40.00 Loss -$44
$30 Jax +1 +113 to win $33.30 Win +$33
$30 Falcons SU +201 to win $60.00 Loss -$30

New subtotal 3-6, -$138.56

Well, that still is pretty bad so better bet the Sunday night game...
$110 :viking:s -3 -110 to win $100 (matchbook)

:drunken: :shaking2: :shaking2: :pale: :pale:

I meant, "No, I don't care." Say you are 60 short at the deadline, you make 30 bets on one side of a line, 30 bets on the other at $20 a piece. Assume they are both -110 (though you could do better by looking around), worst case you are going to lose $1.89 a bet for a total loss of $54.55. Some of those could be pushes too which would result in even less of a loss.
