News is, that Greg Gabriel is in the running for the 'Skins GM?
Gabriel is director of Bears college scouting in case you didn't know and Jerry Angelo is responsible for hiring this guy, but if one area has been terrible for the Bears it has been the college scouting.
I can summarize his picks in Charles Tillman and Lance Briggs. His failures far outweigh his success.
Daniel Manning is a great example of his picks. Speed, athletic and gets placed into 4 positions over 4 years. Now he is sitting behind K Payne. This was suppossed to be a one game (St Louis Move).
1st round picks have been a bust and it seems every draft we find one guy that is OK. Not great, not standout, but just NFL talent. That is the very definition of talent.
Expect not 1 all pro player on this Bears team. Thats pathetic.

Anyone involved in college scouting for the Bears shouldnt be able to get a job for the Chicago Rush let alone another NFL team

Greg Gabriel, in his ninth season as the Bears director of college scouting, has coordinated the team's college scouting operation for the last eight NFL drafts. Hired by Chicago on June 19, 2001, Gabriel is a veteran of 28 NFL seasons, spending 16 years in the New York Giants scouting department, one season with National Scouting and two years part time with the Buffalo Bills.

Bruce Allen was named GM of the Redskins.

Gabriel is in the running for the Buffalo gig. The league needs to take away the franchise from Ralph Wilson if that happens.
