What was worse

1) Northwestern losing to a I-AA school

or

2) Illinois getting blanked 33-0 by Rutgers??

I say number one. Pitiful defensive attempt after a hopeful outing against Miami of Ohio. Where was Tyrell Sutton? I think he may be a one season wonder. I'm still hopeful for the rest of the season, but that's just me. Can anyone say "scared shitless" to meet OSU? They looked awesome vs. Texas.

This is a development season for the Cats. You will be disappointed if you view it as anything more.

Even a development season shouldn't entail losing to a I-AA school.

Rough weekend for the Big Ten except for OSU, Michigan, MSU. Purdue taken to OT by Miami (OH), Iowa to 2OT to Syracuse, Indiana pushed by Ball State

I heard the Iowa QB only found out he was starting the morning of the game. Is that true? If so, I think it was excusable that Syracuse made it close. Iowa WILL do better this year, I think. In addition, I hope Illinois does better against the Cuse than they did Rutgers. And for what its worth... Rutgers is a solid team.

I've heard several rumors Mud. I heard Tate's been nursing it for a few weeks since training camp and was missing practice most of the week before the Cuse. I've also heard Kirk wanted to rest him before the ISU to not make the injury any worse. The press release came out at 1 PM so iut's likely that Tate was slated as the starter and Manson got word that morning.

Just so he's ready to go this weekend against Iowa State - I could care less. They survived and moved on.
