This (to me) is further proof that if it were not for a few timely punt or kick returns by Devin Hester a few years ago, the Chicago Bears had NO business appearing in the Super Bowl.

Lovie Smith is painted as the poster child of The Peter Principle.

Say what you want about Angelo - but he has drafted the players Lovie Smith wanted for 'his system'. He had overpaid to retain the defensive players for 'Lovie's system'. He is currently employing THREE defensive coordinators 'for Lovie's system' - and the Bears defense is amongst the worst in the league.

And I don't want to hear about injuries - the Eagles D-Coordinator died prior to the season, their 'Secondary Captain' for the past several years (Brian Dawkins) isn't on their team anymore - and they have lost ALL THREE starting linebackers for the season. Yet, here they are, vying for a playoff bye week, and the hottest team in the NFC.

Looks to me like Angelo is doing all he can to throw Lovie under the bus before he gets run over by it himself.

Every man for himself at Halas Hall.

Interesting to read the recap of all the questionable decisions. But, the outcome of these final two games should have absolutely no impact on Smith's fate. That decision needs to be made based on the performance of this team when it mattered.

A "strong finish" against a stumbling Viking team and a bad Detroit team should have no impact on what needs to be done. It's a team that has been assembled with substandard talent across the board to play a system that is ineffective without perfect personnel and has shown to be thoroughly undisciplined, uninterested, and unprepared for going on 3 seasons. Smith's time is done.

Absolutely.

10 wins is what it took to make the playoffs MINIMUM - maybe 11-5 when all the dawgs are hung.

The Bears will have 10 to 11 losses.

Time for change.
