Love is like oxygen. You get too much, you get too high. Not enough and you're gonna die. Love gets you high.

I have to admit I was happy the Bears won this game, but it doesn't do too much for me. I guess if it makes Cutler feel better, I am good with it... I thought some of the play calling was a little more aggresive than usual which I liked, but I am concerned that this game will somehow save the coaching staff. I'd like to see them go.

Press conferences are really the stupidest thing ever created by man. Give a bunch of typists with sub-100 IQs microphones to ask questions about whether a professional athlete is upset his team lost a game. And the sad thing is that the typists think they're really doing us a service.

Go break down some film. Find out something we don't know. Getting that one quote for your nut graph in tomorrows Picayune-Journal isn't going to amount to a hill of beans.

If you think this is a 7-8 team without Favre, you are very much mistaken. Rosenfels is decent, just like Ferrotte is decent. They'd be 10-6ish just like last year.

1. I went to a bar to watch a bears game for the first time all year. This was the weirdest game I've seen all year. Can anyone explain who the hell that team in the blue was tonight???

2. So the bar was jam-packed w/ bear fans, cheering loudly on every 1st-down, tackle, TD, etc. I asked a couple of guys around me after the game was over if they realized that they were cheering for the Lovie/Angelo regime to continue.... the majority said they thought everyone would be back regardless.

3. Everyone in this thread that is basically saying the Vikes would suck this year w/out Favre is crazy. This was/is a dominant team that has a different focus on offense w/ him. They've been lucky w/ him IMO so far this year. I hope they keep throwing in the playoffs....... they will lose their 1st game.

4. IB - Nothing made sense about this game right? Was this the Bears team you expected to show up? Allen, Peterson, Rice (until the last pass in reg.) - non- existent. I have no explanation for what happened tonight - especially Peterson. However, Peanut wants the number of that truck.

5. Chris Williams was a beast tonight. Damn Lovie for not moving him to LT sooner.

Based on what we know & what we have seen thus far this season, who are the top 3 WR's on the Bears going into next year?
1. DA
2. EB
3. DH

Now they're talking about how important momentum is to go through the playoffs. Hasn't the past three years proven how unimportant "momentum" is?

Scott Van Pelt(?), Trent Dilfer and whoever is sitting to the right of Van Pelt. I'm watching the follow-up ESPN stuff.

IB, if something is proven to be beneath you, then why subject yourself to it?

Yup. Tarvaris and Sage would have easily won the 49ers game and the Ravens game too. They would have swept the Packers too. All of this with a worse O-line and AP rushing for the fewest ypg in his career.

True, Brett Favre willed that field goal wide left in the Ravens game by sheer will of force.

right. Nas- you're really the only one being illogical and meatballish here. A fact i would think would become apparent to you based on the fact frank is the only one that agrees with you on this

Nice win. Just happy to see some good. We battled with a lot of injuries on defense. Especially when Tillman went down. Didn't hear what happened to him. Lacerated Kidney?

Peterson hasn't been the same back this season. Even more of a reason they wouldn't be as good without Favre. He only has 3 100 yard games but 5 with fewer than 70. He is averaging 22 fewer yards per and 1ypc less than his career average coming into the season. He has lost more fumbles than any other time in his career. Without Favre's 4000 yards and 30 touchdowns and only 7 picks they are on the outside looking in.

It doesn't matter what you think about Favre, AP has been the focus of every opposing defense this year. On a team that everyone knew was going to be really good. Right?

He's gonna finish with 1,400+ yards this year.

Next question...........

It's his worst season in all the areas I listed above. Wasn't he always the focus of defense? Didn't they focus on him more last season with TJ and Gus as QB. Shouldn't he have more opportunities with Favre getting those 8 and 9 guys out of the box. Going into the season I thought he would rush for 2000 yards. Now he will end up with about 400 fewer yard and the worse ypc of his career. What was the cause of the decline? O-line missing Birk? Is he losing a step?

1st of all, losing Matt Birk is a big thing for that line in both aspects of the offense, no question.

2nd, yes, he's been the focus of the defense for the last 3 years. But again, 1,400+ yards this year. You seriously arguing against that on a SB contender? He is a great NFL RB.

Never said that. In my world 1400 yards is great. My point was with the loss of Birk and AP not rushing for 1800 yards (1760 for the assholes) and having the worst year of his career makes the QB position that much more important. It also makes it less likely that the Vikings could win 10 games with Tarvaris is Sage.

But you're the same guy who said he wasn't even a "borderline great RB" last year. Yet his stats are worse this year, and he still has 1, 400+ yds. That's all.

the two "favorites" this season, the vikes and saints, have to prove something now to be close to being picked to beat the packers, the eagles, or the cardinals. the cowboys have just had a "nice run". i hope philly beats their brains in next week. and i think that can happen, too.

these two have interesting match ups. the aints have to go to carolina, who just beat the shit out of the giants. it'd be a good "test" to get the ship righted before the dreaded bye week.

the vikings have to play the giants at home, who just got the shit beaten out of them by the panthers *at home*. and the giants have nothing to play for.

it's funny to me that the cardinals could have a shot at the #2 seed. do they deserve it this year, IB?

Oh, is that all? And I guess thats no big deal right? Because its not like 1 or 2 wins can keep you out of the playoffs. And its certainly not like 1 or 2 wins could be the difference between the #2 seed and having a bye vs. having to go on the road for (potential) playoff game #2 and/or #3.

No, that kinda stuff never happens. I guess you are right once again almighty ff

john kirk rule. I already said he's played well and been valuable to the team. 1 or 2 wins above your replacement is not worthy of mvp. That's what i said

I'm not saying Farve is MVP. In the team photo, but not MVP. What I am saying is that the 2009 Vikings do not already have 11 wins if Jackson or Rosenfels has been the QB for the team all season. You can Kirk Rule me all you want, but you are flat out wrong if you think this year's Vikes would be an 11 (or 12 and even 10 is probably not likely) win team with Jackson or Rosenfels.

you're going out of your john kirk way to pick an argument about this. I said i think they'd finish with 10 wins. And fyi, you cant be flat wrong on an opinion of a hypothetical situation

When it involved Sage Rosenfels or Tavaris Jackson you can. Without Farve the 2009 Vikings don't win more than 9 games.

You expect IB to retire something he made up? And FF is just as stubborn. Kirk Rule is likely to be around at least as long as "tickat" was.

Didn't Tarvaris light it up in the pre season prior to Farve's arrival?
