Just because Devin Aromashadu caught a TD pass does not make him Jesus. He caught a TD, that does not mean the Bears don't need to go get a WR. He's just a guy. If he wasn't just a guy he wouldn't have been on a practice squad for 3 years. He made a great catch and they won the game and that's awesome, but let's not make it more than it is.

I'm only saying this b/c I'm listening to Mully & Hanley and some dick said they don't need to go get another WR now, because Aromashadu is a "legitimate #1".

Whoever said that is a "legitimate" meatball.

Devin Aromashadu reminds me of a young Johnny Knox.

I liked his catch on Cutler's wounded duck over the middle more - the one that showed how much better Cutler looks with a target that is bigger than the current Bears version of the old Washington Redskins' Smurfs.

He is only 6'2", yet he is described as a big target. Imagine if they had a real big WR.

The guy first played in Week 10, in the final drive of the game v SF the coaches put the kid in and he made a GREAT CATCH.

Then didnt play the next week in a loss to Philly.

Then got in for 4 plays v Minn, caught one pass.

So they sit him the next week v St Louis! He got in for 3 plays!

Then Hester got his Boo Boo and since then he had 8 catches v GB, 2 v Balt and 7 v Minn.

It's not that the guy is the best WR ever, but he is the BEST we have, he was best in preseason and he was named by the QB as the guy he wants to see more of??????

He's just a guy now, but he has shown flashes of being a pretty solid WR in this league. I guess we'll see him more next week, and he should be penciled in as the #2 or #3 next year in training camp.

Devin Aromashadu had one of the greatest game-winning catches I have ever seen. His time on practice squad next to guys like Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne has really rubbed off on him and his catch to win the game last night was Reggie Wayne-esque. Not to forget, the ball placement by Jay Cutler was awesome. He kept the safety in check and allowed single coverage for Aromashadu. It was a classic win.

It's a rarity on a Lovie Smith team for a starter to actually WIN his position.

I wonder if the Bears could talk the Giants into trading that big rookie WR out of Cal-Poly for someone like Vasher. The Giants don't look to be in need of WR anymore and this guy will be no more than a 4th WR for the next several years behind Smith, Manningham and Nicks.

Now I'm wondering what Iglesias can do. I don't trust these guys to tell me he can't play anymore.

Kellen Davis has a nice game and then doesn't get a sniff for weeks. I not only do not trust their ability to judge talent, I do not trust their ability to use it correctly once they have identified it.

It's a revelation in Week 16 to roll Cutler out.

Agree, Dolphin, especially the rolling out. Imagine a group of O coaches that understands what Cutler does well. Or a team that does not bury talent.

I'm really liking the way Shaw has played on special teams.

I am intrigued by Khalil Bell as a 3rd down back. I haven't heard his name on special teams so he may have a difficult time supplanting Peterson or Wolfe.

Next Sunday would be a perfect time for Iglesias to get his first action and for Gilbert to start.

He might become one. WR's usually take some time. Donald Driver was a nobody his first three years in the league.

The WR & RB positions are both positions where "just a guy" type players emerge every year.
Just about every NFL team has either a WR or a RB who was "just a guy" at the beginning of the season.

Here are a few "just a guy" players who emerged this year:

Austin Collie
Miles Austin
Jamaal Charles
Ray Rice
Fred Jackson
Robert Meacham
Johnny Knox
Earl Bennett
Jerome Harrison
Justin Forsett
Mike Sims Walker
Kenny Britt
Hakeem Nicks
Mario Manningham
Brent Celek
Visanthe Shiancoe
Jermichael Finley
Fred Davis

Except, you know, several of those players are first round draft picks.

Your point is well taken, but be careful who you refer to as 'just a guy' Rice was a 2nd round pick, Nicks was a first round pick and is a rookie and I'm sure there's more that I can't remember and am too lazy to look up.

exactly, and rice, shiancoe, and finley were emerging, productive players before this season

Here are the draft positions for each of these players. None of these guys were household names...and being a top draft pick certainly doesn't guarantee NFL stardom. Many #1 draft picks are "just guys". Just ask Jerry Angelo!

DA appears to have more WR skill & ability that Knox & Hester. Bennett impressed me the second half of the season. He does what Knox doesnt do...he isnt afraid to go accross the middle & he goes up & gets the football.
Who knows...perhaps DA learned something from his time in Indy?
The thing is, Cutler has been talking about DA all year. He wanted him on the field. When he finally did see the field, he played well. Until he plays poorly, we cant assume that he is bad at football.

Here's my realistic dream for our WR next year:

#1: Anquan Bolden
#2: DA
#3: Earl Bennett
#4/5: Knox/Igelisas..can flip around depending on play call etc.

I actually like Hub's idea of using Hester for KR/PR/3rd Down/Gimmick kind of back. He has a unique talent that should be used, but not featured like it is now

That's a uniquely shitty idea. You're getting high-level production in special teams right now anyway. And he's already returning punts when he's healthy. Why would he be better being used less? And how in the world are you going to use someone that slight in the backfield even a handful of times per game? Not to mention that you'd have to once again retrain him at a different position despite the fact that you were getting more production out of him than any other WR on the roster in his second year at the position.

Hub is genuinely retarded.

If the Bears make a coaching change, Hesters WR career is over.

How would you like to see Hester used then? I think he's more of a hindrance than asset to the WR corps especially if the Bears do get a big name The only problem is his contract is built with the WR incentives in there
