I think many Bears fans would like to see a Bear return to his roots as coach (like Ditka).

Oh that's easy to explain. Rivera was a part of the 85 team; and in many fans eyes; that immediately makes him credible as phenomenal coach. Anything any member of the 85 team does; from brain surgery to radio commentary; the fans believe they can do no wrong.

Actually, Rivera had a much better Defense than the Bears current Defensive coordinator. And personally, I prefer his more aggressive style. Yea I know that Lovie blitzes more, but thats because he doesn't know what else to do. There is more to playing aggressive D than just blitzing.
The fact that Rivera can speak to the media without sounding like a fucking retard is an added bonus.

Why not use Super Bowl victories?

And why only consider Shanahans record for the last 10 years? Maybe because if you considered his last 11 years he has 4 playoff wins & a Super Bowl victory. I mean its easy to pick & choose your stats, but its not very fair.
