You might want to think this through a little bit more because using your way of thinking, chuck Noll, Tom Landry, Don Shula, Joe Gibbs, Bill Belechick, Bill Walsh, & Jimmy Johnson were all lousy coaches because they all had numerous HOF's on their teams. No coach can win a Super Bowl without great players.

Has any coach that has won a superbowl gone somewhere else and done it again? I want somebody who can use what they have and strength somewhere. Either a solid HC with okay coordinators or solid coordinators with a first time head coach. I don't want a whole staff of complete retreads nor a whole staff of first time coaches.

Back to the thread Did Lovie save his job?...there are reports that Forte was injured all season - excuses which could save him - but there is a press conference scheduled at 11 tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

For the record, Shanahan is not my preferred choice as the next Bears head coach. He is my 5th choice, so I would be disappointed if they hire him.

Don't know if it is a season finale press conference or if somebody is being shown the door but there is a press conference scheduled. Let's hope Lovie is too busy cleaning out his office to be at it.

Rivera might be a better D coordinator; but the returning to his roots as a Bear stuff is meatball.

Would you prefer Cowher or Rivera? I'd take Bill Cowher in a heartbeat in Chicago. It's not going to happen; because we'll have another season of Lovie. I'll be amazed if Smith gets fired this week.

It's not so much the fact that Lovie saved his job, as it is the McCaskeys are too cheap to pay two coaching staffs, in consecutive years - one of which they may have no revenue.

TOTALLY disagree on Rivera too. This team has gone in the crapper since he left. Meanwhile, SD's defense has improved since he took over.

Never been an NFL Head Coach = candidate for the Bears Head Coaching job.

...worst case he's a minority candidate for teams to interview.

I'm a huge fan of Harbaughs coaching style & philosophy. The guy is a natural born leader & yes, he has plenty of fire & passion. I watched 4 or 5 Stanford games this year & this guy can coach. He grew up around the game & has been a winner at every level. He is the hottest coach in D1 college football right now & he wont be at Stanford much longer.
When Stanford played USC this year, he ran the score up on Pete Carrol which gives Harbaugh additional bonus points in my book...& he went for 2 when leading big near the end of the game in an attempt to score 50 points.
Even more strange & entertaining though was when he called the old Michigan power running play 14 times in a row during the USC game. Bo would have been proud!
If you don't like excitable coaches who are all over the sideline high fiving & butt slapping then he's probably not the guy for you, but he is an incredibly intelligent guy & his success at SD State & Stanford is garnering him a lot of national attention.

Read the links I attached to a previous post to learn a little bit more about him & why he is sizzling hot right now as a head coach. This guy is gonna land an NFL job within the next year or 2 & failure isn't an option for him. The guy is a winner & master schemer & strategist.
All good coaches lose games. He lost a bowl game...BFD. Every good coach has. But Harbaugh has re-built to terrible college football programs.
