No Bears fan would root for them to be as terrible as possible next year because they hate Lovie Smith. No Bears fan wants them to lose a lot just to get rid of Lovie Smith.

A Bears fan wants the Bears to do well enough we want him back after this year.

A Lovie Smith hater is also a Bears hater. I agree Lovie should have been fired this year. But I do not have such a deep seated hatred for him that I hope the Bears lose.

Thinking that Lovie should be fired is one thing but hoping the Bears go 0-16 next season just to get him fired after last year is another.

Wrong. I am of the exact same mindset as Mac. Unfortunatly, we've gone through this with the last 3 Bears coaches. I rooted against both Wanny & Jauron near the end of their tenure as great leaders of Bear Men. I hope the Bears go 1-15 next year.

Hypothetical here-
So what happens if Mac and others are wrong and the Bears turn this thing around somehow with Lovie in charge next year? What if they somehow start off 6-0 next year? Should Mac and the other Lovie haters change their tune and start rooting for them?

I have to admit that I would find it really hard to root against my team (Eagles) ever. They're almost in that situation right now. Andy Reid and McNabb have been there since '98/'99 and they win consistantly. I'm pretty sure that Reid has the most wins of any Eagles head coach, yet they never have won it all and his scheme seemingly isn't working. I find myself wanting change, but I don't think that I could ever root for them to lose. Maybe that makes me a meatball, so be it.
